Seabass and grilled tomatoes. .

i am in the process of emptying my fridge and freezer so i can make sure everything is fresh come january. .

that means i need to be creative with what i make at the moment. .

Everyone i meet at the moment is mega busy and rushing around.
trying to finish everything, be it work or shopping, or everything else in time for christmas and the holidays.

i see people going back again and again to the same shops because they forgot something.
.

somehow, all my life, i've worked with lists.
i used to be laughed at by "older" people telling me i'm not old enough to need lists.
.

those that know me, and my desk, will know that i'm the queen of post it notes with things written on them.
.

my notes app on my phone has some more lists, such as shopping lists.
.

it massively helps me to be honest. as i hate forgetting things.
.

it does helps me to be organised and way less stressed.
.

every evening and morning, i do check my diary to check what i have planned that day.
.

i write things down and slot them in.
.

if i need to cook, it goes in the diary.
if i am going for a run or an exercise session, it goes in the diary.
if i'm going to the supermarket, it goes in the diary.
.

everything goes in the diary, on my colour coded planner, or goes on the list.
.

and i scrap things out, as i go and finish them.
.

i work best and am most productive with a plan and a list.
.

With less spare time than usual, at this time of year, being organised is crucial if you don’t want to feel overwhelmed, and letting yourself down. .

if during normal times planning and preparation are key to success, then at this time of the year it’s even more important. .

together with making some tweaks and small changes here and there. .

plan even better.
be better prepared.
make smarter choices. .

make sure you have food with you at all times, or at least know what you are going to have at every meal.
have some healthy snacks with you, just in case you get stuck on the way to work, in a meeting, etc. .

temptation is everywhere, and if you’re not prepared, it’s easy to just give in. .

cook larger quantities at the weekend, and have some leftovers for the week. .

dig out that slow cooker that is hiding on the top shelf. it’s an amazing tool. .

make better choices when out, you don’t have to eat the full 3 courses, and the full bar (even if free). .

if you’re short on time change your exercise routine to shorter but more intense workouts, instead of skipping them. .

instead of saying, i’m giving up and will start again in january, do the best you can by being smarter and making some small changes that will make you feel content and proud of yourself by the end of each day.
