The only constant in life is change.

yesterday as i was starting my meditation i read this quote and it stuck with me.

how incredibly scary it can be that everything and everyone is meant to change and it will.
that the reality how you know it now is so different from what it was and from what it will be.

how incredibly beautiful that everything and everyone will change. that we’re not stuck in one place, in one emotion, one body, forever. that we’re always evolving, moving, learning.

it’s inevitable and we shouldn’t be afraid of it.
embrace it instead.
be there, with open arms and open eyes (like incubus were singing).
it can be uncomfortable at times, sure.

but truly think about it like a road trip.
you wouldn’t just go around the neighborhood,
you would put on your longest, favorite playlist and travel through ever changing landscapes.

that’s life. ever changing.
don’t fight it.
stick your hand out of the window and go with the flow.

Headstand isn’t really in my practice right now. even though my physiotherapist gave me the all clear to practice them again about a month ago, i’ve been afraid to re-injure myself. this little egg shape has always been a favorite of mine, and a great way to re-start my headstand practice.

this time i made it a very simple tips for the beginner⠀
as i teach to my basic students who haven’t joined in yoga class before 😊⠀

benefits of low lunge is releases tension in your hips⠀
stretches your hamstrings, quads, and groin⠀
strengthens your knees⠀
.⠀
from down dog⠀
in exhalation step your right foot forward between your hands⠀
lower your left knee to the floor and place the top of the left foot on the floor⠀
inhale, lift your torso up and sweep your arms out to the sides and overhead⠀
stay in low lunge pose for 5 breathes ⠀
exhale, place your hands on the floor, lift your left knee up, step back and return to down dog⠀
repeat with the opposite leg⠀

is your kingpigeon tilting to the side? and you find it difficult to keep your both elbows same height?⠀
maybe it's because your pelvis is tilting to one side. just like any poses, you need the solid foundation to deepen your backbend in a healthy way 🙆⠀
•⠀
place a block under the b**t of front leg. this can improve the stability so much more👌 ⠀
here are some points you may want to check!⠀
•⠀
✔️ keep the both sides of your hips same height. if your base is not even, your whole upper body ends up uneven. 🙅⠀
•⠀
✔️make sure your back knee stay in centre as it tends to open to the side, which can cause the pressure in low back.⠀
•⠀
✔️ squeeze your both legs towards centre like scissors ✂️ you'll feel the release of the pressure in lumber spine. strong legs are the key for any backbend.⠀
•⠀
✔️ lift your chest up⬆️ create the uplifting energy as we tend to sit heavily and low back start to complain 😣⠀
•⠀
🔰 being able to catch your foot is not the big deal. you can always use a strap! rather work on the good alignment 😊⠀
