Yessssss! sofia has crazy fussy days too. she has periods where she wakes ridiculously often, she has clingy days. she sometimes fights naps. yes, i go through days like that too! you are not alone.

but it is true that i overall tend to stay calm, positive, and don’t stress.

how? it’s all in my mindset. the same way i got through a contraction at a time without any drugs, i also get through bad days, one day at a time.

my reminders & things i do to keep positive and not stress while coping with bad baby days: - i can get through today. and tomorrow will be a new day.
- if i stress, i won’t gain anything out of it, and it will only make sofia worse.
- she’s only a baby once so i have to soak in the clingy days too, give her more cuddles and put work off for later.
- if she’s fussy, it’s probably because she is going through a mental or physical growth, and is her way of complaining and dealing with it, i have to be patient and i need to help her get through it.
- work can wait. even if it means working longer when she goes to bed, going to bed later myself, or doing more tomorrow. i’ve seen that after less productive days come very productive ones so, i don’t worry about it.
- i take an outdoor walk if i need to. go grab a tea. and come back refreshed.
- my gym break also helps me release tension and get a mental break (this is why i like to schedule it later in the day).
- these first 1000 days of her life are also when her personality and social skills develop, so any activities we play, any emotional and personal relationships we establish, how i interact with her, how much time we spend with her.... everything counts and builds her future!
- i keep doing mommy self care actions every day! see full list of ideas on the mombosslife.co web

balancing both sofia & work full time can be a lot and yes of course there are bad days, but i am having the time of my life and i wouldn’t change it for anything.

what helps you get through bad baby days?

"working madonna & child, a self portrait. 🌈✨ breastfeeding itself is work. women are so incredible. motherhood is being a warrior and a goddess simultaneously, so thankful that i get to be both. 🤱 💕"

For all you mamas who feel that thing we like to call “mom guilt”... this post is for you. i cherish and look forward to the days that i get to spend a whole day with my son but moms need some solo time too. mom guilt can be overwhelming and prevent you from doing the things you love. every day i get a mom guilt attack. going to work, leaving my son at day care, travelling, getting a manicure, having drinks with friends, there is always the question of... do i really need to go? and the answer is yes! yes you do. being a mom is a huge job and we need to take time for ourselves to unwind and feel energized again. the guilt will always be there but it shouldn’t stop you. before we brought these beautiful beings into the world we had social lives and did things, so it shouldn’t stop us now. if we want to be good moms and wives we need and deserve this time. cheers to all you mamas out there...now go pour yourself a drink.

Before you jump down my throat, i know calories in vs calories out is easier said than done; however, that doesn't negate the accuracy of this infographic. .

while the hormones and other ingredients in mcdonald's fries make them delectable and very, very bad for your overall health, the simple act of eating them isn't going to cause you to get fat. you could eat a large fry three times a day and not gain a single pound. the only reason that super size me guy gained weight on the mcd's diet was because he consumed more calories than he burned. .

you can eat nothing but junk food and be thin. several of you do this. you can also eat nothing but nutrient-dense whole foods and be overweight. unfortunately fewer of you do this. this is because...say it with me...of the number of calories you're consuming vs how many you're burning. .

the best part? those of you who eat the nutrient-dense foods and are overweight are *probably* healthier than the thin folk eating junk food. there's an important lesson to be learned here...

For those that don’t think it’s possible to have stretch marks and flabby skin and still love yourself and be able to transform your body without surgery, just watch me over the next few months. i hope that by sharing my journey as raw as i possibly can, i will inspire you all to love yourself a little more and if there’s a fitness goal you have, achieve it! i still love every inch of my body and i’ll transform it to look like whatever i want with nutrition and exercise 😘

So as a mom and wife, there are plenty of chores that consistently need to be done around the house, and like any mom, i do my best to keep up with everything. of course the reality of it, is that sometimes there’s not enough time in the day or i’m just too exhausted to finish it. does this make me a bad mom/wife? no! this lady needs to rest sometimes! i absolutely can’t stand the stereotype of the mom or wife needing to have everything done in a timely fashion! it is okay to say no, it is okay to take a breather and a little time for yourself. so sit down, grab a coffee and reenergize yourself 🧺🍽☕️

Another day another lola. there’s no place i’d rather be.
.
day 9 of #alliwantforchristmasislola is a one minute bird dog hover plus 30 seconds of lola drills. tried to focus on the lean forward with the shoulders. not ideal to do this right after eating a bowl of ramen 🍜 but i squeeze in my yoga whenever there’s a window of time in between mom’ing and other stuff.

I’ve been meaning to post this video of our little experiment with dry-shampoo. we read the labels and were sort of concerned when the two other bottles gave warnings of being flammable. both also had ingredients of butane and propane. 😳 just remember to read the labels. 😍
also, this month with a flexship order, receive a full size dry shampoo! 💕
*no one was hurt while conducting this video. 😉
sorry for the shaky video. .

Here's what we are having for dinner this week! every winter i start to get in a cooking rut. is it just me? i plan our meals out with my girls, go through the pantry and fridge to see what we need together, add to cart, and pick it up on mondays! it's such a time saver and to be honest, we save money not going in the store and impulse buying! what are you cooking in the kitchen this week?

Hi! i’m here to share a little story and exciting things to come. ▫️in 2016, i was hit with a vestibular disorder.  in short, it flipped my world upside down.  i went from feeling in control to losing my sense of self in the world, quite literally.  feeling off kilter, like i was sitting on moving dock, looking at my life from the outside, were a few of the symptoms that consumed my days.  over the course of two years i saw many doctors – utilizing mainly a holistic approach but also searching for answers within western medicine. ▫️over that two-year period, i discovered my relentless drive to push forward, my heart to help others coping with vestibular disorders, and my need to discover how this experience would shape my life.▫️i used foods to fuel and heal my body, essential oils to support my entire being and cope with the many all-consuming symptoms – both physical and emotional.  i worked with a holistic doctor and neurologist and around two-years in, with persistence and hope, i started to “feel like me” again.▫️only that experience had changed me in a beautiful way, as all tough times do if we let them.  i was overflowing with gratitude and bursting at the seams to help others.  after countless moments of pleading with the universe to provide me with guidance, as i sat with the twinkly lights (from the christmas tree), listening to music that made my soul so happy, @honestly__you was born.
▫️all i longed for during the times that i was in the middle of particular bad period with the disorder was to feel like “me”. i knew i was there deep within, but my physical well-being had been hurt and it would take a fight to come through.  so when i did find peace with the disorder and the days became better, my mission was stirring within me.  don’t we all just want to feel at peace, with our soul happy?  i believe that gaining a crystal-clear perspective on how i want to feel while eating the foods that support my mind and body, as well as essential oils to provide balance, is a huge step in a beautiful direction.▫️i’ll be launching mid january and i can’t wait to share with you!💕
