The power of vulnerability! 🌸🌝 my weight loss is part of a bigger journey of self-acceptance. i used to be mortified of posing in photos. i’d imagine that if the photo was shared somewhere and i saw it, i’d feel exposed and vulnerable. it would be too much of a reality check. so every time i was called for a photo, i’d throw on a brave face and show up. then how did i take all these staged before pictures? coz i eventually learnt to face my fears. when i was grappling with anxiety and started dieting and working out, i decided - s***w it. this is who i am today. i’m accepting myself. all i know is, i’m putting in the work to be better. so i wanted as many pictures of myself as possible. i wanted to feel exposed and vulnerable. s***w the hidden insecurities, s***w the things that i don’t like about myself - the more i expose them, the less power they will have over me. 2 years since the picture on the left, it’s just so interesting to me how i’m building a whole career around photos of me from the past. am i having a full circle moment? more than i can grasp!

A reminder to be patient and grateful! 🌸
in march 2016 i wanted to lose 10 kgs. a couple of months later, i did. in june 2016 i wanted to lose another 10 kgs. 3 months later, i did. i wanted to and eventually shed my next 20 kgs in 2017. in early 2018, i wanted to see the scale go below 70 kgs. i enrolled in a fitness program and finished it at 67 kgs. through this journey, i wanted full circle moments with the people and past experiences that undermined me when i was bigger. i was able to have those moments again and again. a few months back, i wanted to start training clients. 4 clients later, i want to grow my business. right now, you’d think that the girl on the right is content. yes and no. what do i still want now? i want to resolve my loose skin problem. i want my career to takeoff at breakneck speed. i want the future to be clear and i want a well defined path to success. i want to earn more. i want my dad to understand me more and i want to feel in control of my emotional state. and ideally, i want all of it *now*. and i’m starting to see that i’m not the kind of person who wants things subtly. i‘m more likely to have a showdown with the universe, “why are you not giving me this? it’s never going to happen for me is it?!”. i’ll cry and stomp about wanting what i want, uncertain if it’s going to happen for me. i often fail to hit the brakes and feel gratitude and enjoyment during the achievement phase. because the truth is i have achieved so much of what i’ve wanted to and more. the universe has been very generous, has almost always offered balanced effort-reward scales. i lost over 1/3rd of my body weight. objectively, i have a successful 5+ year career behind me. i have found my passion. i have great relationships and love. even without any achievements, i am still alive. what is the point if you can’t savour your small and big wins or even just your existence? how dare you toss them aside only to want more? slow down you crazy child. the weight will go, you’ll get better at things, career will figure itself out, you will have your moments, everything will happen for you. be patient, be grateful. ✨

I stared at this picture for about 5 minutes because although i know it’s me in both pictures, i still feel like it’s not real, like it’s two different people
.
i remember not wanting to take the before picture because my feet hurt, i was sweaty and i felt like i smelled. also those jeans had huge holes in them but it was all that fit. that shirt was my skinny skirt. i thought i lt made me look thin
.
one of the biggest surprises that came with my weight loss was my jawline and my waist. i thought i never had either
.
the biggest thing to bring from this is that you shouldn’t have expectations when losing weight. let them surprise you. and trust me if i could do that you can do anything ♥️

Practice, patience and perseverance
my client was fed up of the same old workout. she saw me training someone with my @strikepads.academy flow and decided to take herself out of her comfort zone.

she found it really really hard at first.
.
the constant flow of combinations she had to learn and technique was so many things to think about it was a little overwhelming.
.
she always said she would keep going, no matter how many times she got it wrong, no matter how many times i had to explain it.
.
then she had the “breakthrough”.
.
whatever your intended goal is, you must get through the difficult phases you will inevitably experience when you are learning. if you stay calm, focused and learn your lessons, you will experience a confidence boosting upgrade eventually.
.
after that the motivation is built from within and the flow of learning rushes through you.
.
expect the experience of difficulty, perseverance is powerful, enjoy the fruits of your hard work.
.

5 years ago i started my own football team. it went well until last year when circumstances meant i couldn’t provide the necessary time needed to run it properly.
.
i enjoyed every second of it.
.
the lessons learned from the whole experience taught me the delicate balance between organisation, man management and enjoyment.
.
very similar to the skills needed of a pt.
.
but, more than anything it taught me how amazing it can be helping other people come together under a collective goal.
.
i would never have truly understood how powerful it was to be the vehicle to enable team spirit and bond between teammates. it gave me unbelievable levels of pride.
.
lesson learned: putting yourself in situations of increased responsibility bring out the best qualities in you.
.
you’ll find a better version of you in there. do it in any way you can.

My fav tips for fatloss
few simple changes that will make you lose f*t
the best way to lose f*t as i have realized is to make small lifestyle changes that have a big impact on my overall health.
here are few simple but effective changes you can make today to start losing weight
.
1) nutrition 🍽: first focus on nutrition coz what ever you eat that will come up
i have seen lot of people saying me that they are eating a 🥑 good & clean food & still dey are not reducing the weight 🤔 guess y?? the reason behind this is they are eating excess calories, in fatloss phase you have to consume fewer calories then you burned 💪
.
2) training🏋‍♂: the 90% majority of people they stick to only cardio & they think lifting weights makes them bulky ( specially females ) its a myth
if you do only cardio of course u lose weight & along with weight you lose lean gains & u end up looking skinny which you don't wanna look right.....!! lifting weights will retain ur lean gains & even you gain lean muscle & also promote fat-loss
.
3) basic : keep ur fatloss journey very simple don't over complicate : internet is filled with tons of fad diet & plans
u have to keep simple & staple food in ur diet according to ur body conditioning stick to specific types of meals when you’re trying to lose fat. when you want to mix things up, try adding variety to your diet with new fruits and veggies
.
4) stresslevel 😧: stress & fat-loss doesn't go really well
.
5) sleep 😴: you have to get minimum 5 to 7 hours of quality sleep/day
5) consistency : u have to be consistent & patient coz fat-loss doesn't happen over night or in a week
the secret for fatloss is u have to keep urself consistent day in day out week in week out as simple as abcd

3 ways to start a pointless challenge...
1️⃣ decide to do a challenge for a period of time that would make it almost impossible to complete.
2️⃣ decide to cut out something completely without any leeway for failure.
3️⃣ decide to focus on restriction of a certain behaviour rather than an abundance of it.

Я уже 6 лет я живу в «новом теле»!

Из 78 кг я сбросила вес до 53 кг ,и я не только достигла результата ,но и сумела удержать☺️

Be more disciplined
if you saved 50p a day, every day for a year you will have £182.50 at the end of every year to spend how you liked - or if you’re me, save how you like.

i won’t miss those 50p pieces. i won’t feel poorer without those 50p pieces on a day-to-day basis. but at the end of the year i will feel delighted that i made a small effort throughout the year to reap a reward at the end of it.
.
now, imagine doing that every day with your wellness. waking up 10mins earlier to make your day begins with some stretching/exercise/food prep. or, making sure you keep your water bottle in hand throughout the day to intake your requirement. or going to bed 15mins earlier every day.
.
having the consistency and discipline to do small things every day will accumulate into a huge positive effect on your body over the weeks, months, years.
.
take a notebook and write down 3 things you could do today to improve your health. pick one. do it for the next 7 days - and reap the rewards!

the beginning words of your sentences set you up for your outcome.

there are certain ways we can help convince ourselves of outcomes before they have even happened.
.
when someone suggests to me that they, “can’t do it” before they’ve even tried, i suggest that they ask themselves “how” they could do it first. following this method of thinking, you can easily find the answers you need to get the, “i did it..” stage.
.
for example, my client courtney had a cesarian in order to birth her first child earlier this year. it was not the plan but it happened.
.
they told her she shouldn’t be able to hold her baby for weeks but after we spoke about 3 different optional programs she could follow to strengthen her core safely she was holder her son within a week. she found a new outcome based on her mental approach to her problem, and she did this all via my online coaching - which means she did it all without me even being there!
.
no matter what your situation is, you can organise your life to succeed in achieving your goals if you show a strong mental attitude, now don’t say, “i don’t have that!” you do!
.
tag someone with a baby or someone who is expecting to let them know that when things don’t go to plan you can always come out of it stronger on the other side.
.

“relationship weight.” 🤪 i use this term to describe the 20 pounds i gained while experiencing a happy relationship with vj. when we got together, my whole relationship with food changed. as someone who had counted my calories daily for years, maintaining 150 lb weight loss, i started to go out to eat more and enjoy more “comfort foods” with my then new love. vj is a skinny guy with a fast metabolism, and i started to feel like my body worked like his. well... it doesn’t. 😫 (but i’m grateful for that, i’ll talk about that another day).
.
i slowly started to gain weight for the first real time since my original weight loss journey. i didn’t realize it, but i did for the first time after seeing these pictures of me from our disney world trip in 2017. i felt so upset at myself. my whole life/career is based on my weight loss, and here i was, gaining 20 pounds back?! i felt like a failure.
.
i tried to lose weight, knowing that i’m a pro at weight loss, and to my shock, nothing was happening. i’d look at myself in the mirror every day and feel disappointed at what i saw.
.
one day, i thought about it. what made this weight loss journey so much harder? then, it dawned on me.
.
during my original weight loss journey, i fully loved myself. during this 2nd round, i was coming at it from a place of self-disappointment and frustration. that’s when i realized that i needed to change my mindset.
.
i started to treat myself kindly again. i began to play on my own team. i told myself that i was beautiful no matter what, & reminded myself that i’m doing this for #healthnotlooks. i reminded myself that i am strong, capable, and that i would make it happen with self-love. ❤️
.
now, i’ve lost 12.5 of those 20 pounds, & i’m okay with taking it super slowly. actively loving myself gave me my confidence back and i’ve felt beautiful and amazing every single step of the way. now, i’m only 7.5 pounds from my goal weight - the weight i maintained for years. most of my clothes fit me again. i have more energy. i feel happier. it’s all for #healthnotlooks. 💗

i’m loving every step of this journey. i know i can do this. & i know that you can do anything you set your mind to, too! 💗

It’s difficult and it’s continuous...
i get the impression people think i have the mental aspect of this covered. i don’t.
.
i get the impression that people think i’m financially where i want to be. i’m not.
.
i get the impression people think i’m spiritual. it’s an ongoing process for me that could end tomorrow if i’m not careful.
.
they key to improvements in these areas of your life is...consistency.
.
how do you stay consistent?
.
practice and accountability (swipe right for my way to do this).
.
your mind is not your own sometimes, it will need to be tamed regularly in order to get it to do what you want.
.
the people that find that difficult may need someone to hold their decisions up in front of them - like a coach or friend.
.
but on a basic level, you can - if you want to - be in a completely different space 6 months from now. if you are willing to believe that you can and you put the work in.

Io e il mio rapporto col cibo⬇️
il cibo è sempre stato la mia vita. mangiavo sempre, mi piaceva avere tra le mani cose morbide per soddisfare ciò che di duro avevo dentro me: il cuore.
poi però, quando ho iniziato la dieta, la mia visione del cibo è cambiata: non fonte di vita ma di sostentamento, qualcosa che mi facesse stare in piedi. lì ho iniziato ad educarmi sul serio.
più dimagrivo, più ringraziavo il cibo per avermi ridato pace e serenità. gli volevo quasi bene. ma poi, ho pensato che meno mangiassi, più fosse meglio. lo dicono tutti no?
e invece no. meno mangi più poi ne risenti. e io ne ho risentito.
circa un anno e mezzo fa ho avuto un plateau piuttosto lungo, e pensavo di risolvere mangiando sempre meno. così mi nutrivo solo di lattuga e qualche proteina, perché dicevano che i carboidrati fossero il male.
a distanza di tempo ho visto il danno che avevo causato: debolezza, poca resistenza, scarsi effetti sulla dieta. quando pensato di reintrodurli, era già tardi: il mio corpo ha assimilato male ciò che gli davo, accumulando grasso a dismisura. e quando mi sono decisa, qualche mese fa, a farmi seguire, le cose non sono andate come speravo: non riuscivo e perdere questi kg in più.
ma come, proprio io? sì, proprio io. proprio questo profilo qua. io che non mi sono mai arresa, adesso devo affrontare più difficoltà di prima.
l’insulino resistenza non è un gioco, e io me ne sto rendendo conto. rimedierò.
ma ringrazio questi anni per avermi insegnato a sbagliare, ad ammetterlo, e poi a rimediare.

this transformation isn’t just physical. i see physical differences in my stomach and legs and my b**t has definitely got bigger 🙌, but i also see a huge mental change. i didn’t just change my hair and add a full sleeve. i full out changed my d**n outlook on life and my outlook on myself. i changed my thought process on how i view life and how i view myself. .

.
what changed between these two photos?
i’m more confident in my body.
i’m no longer hiding my face.
i feel more myself than i ever have before.
i now do no cardio whatsoever (my body reacts really well to no cardio 🤷‍♀️) ... i still do some hiit training but absolutely no cardio machines.
i now train abs maybe once a week (on a good week) and they look better than ever.
my stomach got smaller and my a*s got bigger.
i can now confidently look at myself everyday and love my body.
i no longer negatively self talk about my body.
i never step on a scale because i think it mentally messes with women.
i eat whatever i want and train however i want nowadays.
i don’t beat myself up over only going to the gym 4 days a week instead of 6.
i no longer have horrible binge eating habits and now take care of my body because i allow myself to eat what’s considered “bad” or “unhealthy” food every single day.
i now have an amazing and healthy relationship with food which i never had before. .

Don’t know who needs to hear this but if you’ve woken up today feeling guilt, feeling like you’ve s*****d up your diet over the weekend than stop! .

a couple of days over the weekend isn’t going to sabotage your progress. .

i used to have the ‘all or nothing mentality’. if i s*****d up i would feel like i failed and continue to go off track for a couple of weeks and undo all the hard work that i have put in.
.

being on this life long journey, i have shifted my mindset.

i now accept that there will be days i will over eat and over indulge, but hey that’s just apart of life. 
we’re only human. there is no such thing as the perfection. 
so, if you’re striving for perfection, you’re going to disappoint yourself over and over - that’s just impossible.

you guys know im so real with you & the truth is it’s not
going to be an easy journey.

it’s going to be tough! 
believe me i know the struggle is real… 
it will be a battle between you & that voice in your head telling you that “you can’t do it”, “its hard”, “you’ve failed because you gave into your cravings”. let me remind you.

it’s what you do most of the time that matters. 
being consistent & patient is key to your success.

you’re going to have your ✅ good and ❌ bad days. it’s part of this journey.

don’t beat yourself up over a couple of bad days.

No 2 generic programs
you’ll be surprised how often i hear the words, “i’ve found a chest/back/legs workout online by this guy in america so i’m going to follow that for a bit and see how i go...”
.
problem 1. it takes into account exactly zero of the variables that make you, you.
.
problem 2. there are approximately zero technical cues, or any example of the exercise to refer to for that matter. just a few words and numbers.
.
problem 3. there is zero progression programmed in. it is simply a workout someone did one day and they’ve uploaded it with the tag, ‘get a bigger chest/bicep/back in 4 weeks etc..’
.
your body will stop responding to this within a matter of weeks...what then?
.
problem 4. it doesn’t account for how your body moves and/or your injury/accident history. i’ve yet to met someone has had neither an injury or accident that effects the way they move.
.
your progress depends on how you move, how you eat, where you push, where you stretch, where you measure and where you adapt your program.
.
this is impossible using a generic online program.
.
definite result👉🏻you will eventually need it correcting by someone who will ask you why you did it in the first place.
.
don’t be that guy/girl.
.
be smart. get a plan.
.
you will be happier and healthier because of it - long term.

How to make your diet work...
no matter my personal preference, there are thousands of “diets” that do work.
.
thousands of people see weight loss, increased health and/or increased muscle by following different approaches.
.
whether those people maintain it...that’s another question.
.
i estimate about 95% don’t. and that’s worrying. it’s a sign that their chosen diet was not sustainable.
.
a sustainable diet is a description of a way of eating that you can keep repeating long-term without finding it too difficult to maintain.
.
why would it be unsustainable?
1. it treats some foods as the enemy
2. it’s restricts too many things
3. it encourages bad habits
4. it focuses on weight loss not f*t loss
5. the goal is only a matter of weeks away, not months/years.

what’s best for long-term, sustainable eating habits you ask?
.
real foods, whole foods, simply prepared, cheap, tasty (very important), good for your body, good for your goals, environmentally friendly 👀 and loads of options - not much to ask is it?!
.
actually no, it isn’t. there is such a thing. and you can do it consistently and without too much trouble - with practice.
.
like...anything you have ever done before. 👉🏻👉🏻👉🏻you. can. do. it

Since there’s a lot of you that are new here, i just want to share my story with you all 🤗
.
in high school, i was active. i played 3 different sports, and never had a problem with my weight. that wasn’t until i graduated high school, went to college, and didn’t play sports and became inactive all together and eating habits declined.
.
i spent my early 20’s uncomfortable in the skin i was in. i was missing out on going to the beach, and outings with friends because i was worried about what i was going to wear and how i could cover up my body as much as possible.
.
i did a low carb diet back in 2012 (i knew nothing that i know now) and lost 40 lbs! until i stopped and gained all my weight back.....and more. 👎🏼
.
spent a few more years uncomfortable with my body before i knew i had to do something. i tried and failed so many times.
.
so what was different this time? i didn’t quit.
.
no matter how many obstacles i came across, how many times i failed, i just picked myself back up and kept going.
.
it took me 1 year to lose 60 lbs. and another year to lose an additional 20. i now stay between the same 10 lbs (depending on my goals😊)
.
just know that if you’ve tried and failed over and over, you’re not hopeless. it might take you failing hundreds of times to get to that one time that sticks. keep going, just always keep going. ♥️

Common question i get asked all the time.

how did you lose weight?

let me tell you - i worked super hard for it.

it wasn’t easy. it was hard.

i wish there was a quick fix, but unfortunately there isn’t. 
it all comes down to being in a calorie deficit (eating less calories than i was burning). i was consistently in a calorie deficit.

70% of weight loss is the from the food you consume and 30% are other common factors - exercise, sleep and controlling stress levels.

i joined the gym. 
i trained minimum 3-5 x per week. 
back then i did cardio because i knew no better. 
now my main focus is resistance 🏋🏻‍♀️ training.

there were plenty of times i wanted to give up. 
i struggled 😩 a lot too. 
i had plenty of ‘bad’ days when i just wanted to give up but i didn’t let that 1 or 2 days turn into days on end. 
was it an easy journey? no!
was it worth it? ✔️ yes!

do i still struggle? hell yes! 
this is a life long journey.

anyone trying to lose weight knows its not an easy journey.
it’s bloody hard. 
but its worth it!

if i can do it, you can do it too.

you are capable of more than you know, all you have to do is 👉 start believing in yourself. 
believe you can and you will!

sembra ieri, eppure ho già passato i 20, i 21, i 22 e anche i 23: così tanto desiderati ma che adesso rimpiango perché mi avvicino sempre più al mondo degli adulti, al mondo delle responsabilità da grandi. ed ho realizzato la cosa da poco tempo.
al pensiero di trovare lavoro, laurearmi, andare via. in cerca di qualcosa che ancora non conosco.
ma nell’incertezza di questi anni so che ciò che sto facendo e sto diventando è il meglio che potessi sperare per me.

When you’re in, you’re in.
finding reserves deep inside your head, when everything tells you to stop, only then do you really get to know your true self.

it’s during these experiences that you experience an incredible release of mental stress. the physical exertion places such an intense load on your body and mind that all other mental stresses pale in insignificance in comparison.
.
this is why people do these types of events. it’s actually the best form of stress relief, in my opinion.
.
and it’s why i will continue to find new ways to challenge myself, whether it be sitting in freezing cold water, physical exertion competitions or longer breath retention exercises.
.
every day my mind can become stronger. every day i can increase in confidence. every day i can improve 0.5%. every day is my opportunity...you can do it too. i’m not special and i’m not different. i’m just better practiced at it than some of you. and others, i’ve learnt this from you! thank you 🙏🏻🌱💪🏻 i’m grateful.

Sometimes you gotta get creative in the gym. my bluetooth @beatsbydre died mid workout, so i had to use my “backup-buds”. instead of tucking my phone in my waistband (something i would normally do) i used my ankle straps as a phone holder. let me tell you i’m a freaking genius. here are a few photos of me being really proud of myself. what have you done today that makes you proud? it can be as silly or as serious as you want! .

We age not by years but by stories” at the age of 20 i couldn’t have imagined where i’d be physically, mentally and emotionally now at 29. i hope i can say the same in another 10 years. i’m not excited to age persay, but i am excited to see how i continue to grow. 
fun story about the dress on the right: when i was in utah a few months ago for a photography workshop, some friends and i went out shopping in park city. we found this dress in a cute little boutique and i was encouraged by friends to try it on. it was completely out of my comfort zone but why not, right? i tried the medium on first and it was too big (who am i right now??) and they were able to find one more in the back in a size small. to my surprise, it fit...and i actually kind-of liked it.
.
long story short, this was the first time in my adult life that i was able to shop with friends and swap clothes between dressing rooms to see how it looked on each of us. it may seem insignificant to most, but it was a big moment for me. i’ve always felt that i was missing out on that special moment between friends.
.
.

Smiling before and smiling even more after. 150 pounds later! 💗 my body shrunk, but my life expanded. i was always a happy girl, but my size used to hold me back from enjoying so many things in life.

public seating was always a gamble - would i fit or would i be squished for however long i had to be there? walking for more than a few minutes was exhausting (and sweaty, no matter the weather). sitting in the back seat of my friends’ cars and knowing that everyone was squished because of my size. i stopped trying to go on amusement park rides after being kicked off of one due to the seatbelt not fastening around my body. i had never experienced the joy that physical activity brings. people would judge me on first glance without wanting to get to know me. these are just a few examples of how my body held me back from experiencing so many beautiful things in life.

i am body positive. i loved myself at every size. but i wasn’t healthy back then. i’ve had people online tell me i shouldn’t have lost weight - that i could have been healthy then. but that just simply is not true. i think that now, more than ever, it’s so important to respect everyone’s journey, because there is so much more to them than may meet the eye.

many anti-weight loss folks may see this picture and think, “wow, she hated herself so much that she lost all that weight. she was fine.” but they were never there. they are not me. i loved myself so much that i decided to make a healthy change for myself. my life is a million times better for it. the freedom i have within this beautiful body is empowering. it was always about #healthnotlooks.

Day 94 of 100⁣

ive attempted suicide twice in my life.⁣

people are conditioned to think of mostly one thing when they hear the word “transformation” ⁣

today is the iconic transformation tuesday. but today, i want to shed some light on what we typically forget when we see transformations.⁣

the posts are focused on physical transformation, so we compliment them, and congratulate them on their results⁣

and i have nothing against these posts at all, i f*****g love them. but they limit our definition of transformation.⁣

there's so many other transformations that take place in what you see that we don’t think or speak of.⁣

sometimes we put in our captions everything that was done and overcome in the process, but i’m willing to bet more than half the people who like the post don’t even read it.⁣

we need to talk about those other transformations:⁣

the mindset changes.⁣
the anxiety that they overcame.⁣
the sacrifices they made.⁣
the process of self-love/self-care.⁣
the stepping out of their comfort zones.⁣
the fears they faced head-on and overcame.⁣
the diagnosis of illnesses and disease.⁣
cutting out negative people⁣
coming out of the closet to the world ⁣
facing judgement and doing it anyways⁣
trying new food.⁣
meeting new people.⁣
traveling to different countries… and so much more.⁣

there's so much that we don’t see...⁣

so much we don’t talk about.⁣

it’s still painful to think about where my head was at ten years ago.⁣

i wanted to end my life even though i received compliments almost daily. they didn’t see the pain inside of me.⁣

but they didn’t know. because i never told anybody about it. ⁣

i chose to hide those feelings for fear of people thinking i was weak or messed up. i was scared that i would get in trouble for feeling the way i did. i feared that i would lose friends and no one would want to be around a depressed suicidal teenager.⁣

i wanted people to think everything was all good because i didn't want the attention. i didn't want to be a burden.⁣

but once i became vulnerable... my life changed for the better.⁣

so i encourage you to be open and vulnerable.⁣

it's not easy. it's f*****g scary as fuck. ⁣

Three years strong

i used to think when i was a newbie that maintenance would be the easiest part of this journey. then i hit my one year mark, and i could eat a cup of food in one sitting and by that point i learned how to eat around my surgery. i was forced to make one of two choices deal with my issues or gain the weight back

which one do you think i chose? 255lbs v. maintaining in the 170s
.
i still want to lose more, sure, but i am so d**n proud of how far i have come, and the fact that i am three years out and still keeping the weight off. that is a win
