This morning i found myself more anxious than i’ve been in months.
.
.
i could feel it creep up my throat and tighten my chest. .
.
my plan was to go to the gym and absolutely crush a kb workout...then i thought...hmmm let’s think of something else, that intensity might not be for me today.
.
maybe a swim? nah- that didn’t sit well vibrationally, either.
.
maybe i’ll stay home and do some mobility? even that didn’t jump out at me.
.
then, unapologetically, i sat and listened to what my body was trying to tell me-
.
💆🏼‍♀️silence
💆🏼‍♀️tranquility
💆🏼‍♀️recharge
.
.
so that’s what i did- i sat infront of the sun, meditated for 5 minutes, and that my friend- that was the exact thing i needed to shift a blah-anxious feeling.
.
.
i was just talking to an #elitegolffitnessaccelerator athlete about this yesterday- and how vital it is to our handicaps, mental health, and injury rates for us to listen to our bodies and what they need.
.
can you think of a time where you said s***w it- i can’t miss a workout because i’m gaining all this weight and can’t afford to go up another pant size?
.
so you pushed through anyway- probably exhausted, miserable, depleted and completing the workout out offear that if you dont do it, x will happen to you or your game?
.
no pain no gain, right?!
.
.
❌um, no. (there’s a reason why mindset is such a big part of the accelerator☺️)
.
in the process of being a low handicap golfer, who hits it a mile, and has the mental game and energy of a touring professional...we need to make hard decisions like. a touring professional.
.
ie-
-when to listen to your body
-when to let it heal
-when to back off
-when to rest
.
.
because let me be real- mental stress, physical stress, and emotional stress are all in the same.
.
our body doesn’t know the difference.
.
so if your brain is running ramped, help yourself out. trust your body so much that you know if you listen to it, it will do amazing things for you: like decreasing inflammationn, and leaning out.
.
give it a chance to unwind, regroup, and recharge.
.
that is how low handicap, less injuries, and a d**n good mental game are born:)
