It’s so important for us to create space between us and our thoughts. remember to ‘stop’ and take time to connect with yourself in the moment, right in the here and now. take yourself from the past and the future and bring yourself into the present. the quickest way to connect with you is to bring your awareness to your breathing. connect with the breath. just allow yourself to focus your attention on your breathing.. being accepting of it and not trying to change it at all. it may help you to count your breaths for one or two minutes lf it helps you to stay focussed and present. as you bring awareness to the breath, notice your abdomen rising and falling. notice how you feel your breath and where. can you feel the air as you inhale through your nose? what does that feel like? what sensations are you experiencing? do you feel it more in your nostrils? or the back of your throat? is it warm or cold? dry or moist? just be aware of the sensations you are feeling in the moment. as you create this space for yourself it will give time for your rational brain to settle and engage, helping you to feel calmer, de stressed and have more clarity of mind. 💕#empowerment #stop#create#mindfulness#instagood#takecontrol#breathe#awareness#be#createspace#stress#anxiety#rational#clarity#peace#choices#purpose#passion#healing#thrive#growth#youareawesome#love#

Breaking bondage: strength amid stress

we know this but do we live like it when faced with stressful situations? i am quick to confess there are certain situations in my life right now that can really wear on me. so how do i handle it? .
#1: cope - keep the proper perspective. i do what i can do. beyond that, i'm [still] learning more and more to release anxiety about it when it arises. my responsibility regarding this particular situation is limited by its very nature. therefore, why allow it to have greater weight on me (my heart, mind, energy) than rational and practical? .
#2 grow - set boundaries. i play my part but i had to realize i'm not the savior in this situation, no matter how passionately i feel about something. some people may not like nor understand the boundaries that you need to have in place. to that i say 'oh well'. listen, your peace is not theirs. and for believers we are instructed to guard our heart which can't be done when reasonable boundaries do not exist. also, set boundaries for things you know or made privy to. we lose strength amid a stressful situation due to the incessant & habitual need to know. i began to retain my peace when i stopped asking for details if the info isn't required to do what i need to do. .
we may have situations or circumstances that affect our life, but to give it the authority to own us is our decision. .

Long post alert ☁️ mental health is so important but it doesn’t mean we have a mental health problem if we have down days. we need to let go of the stigma ☁️ sometimes i wonder what must be happening in someone’s world to make them be so rude to another person ☁️ it costs nothing, nothing, to speak to people and treat them with respect and empathy ☁️ we all have s**t going on in our lives that makes us stressed, busy, exhausted! mentally, emotionally and physically! we all deal with things differently and these things will effect all of us in different ways. ☁️ but what nobody deserves is to be spoken to and treated without compassion... nobody deserves to be humiliated and shamed for struggling ☁️... so if anyone reading this is struggling with anything in life from bringing up your kids, to juggling work/family life/hobbies to having days where your mind and memory fail you. i’m here to listen,
i also wanna shout out to 4 people who’ve been there to listen to me rant and watch me cry because some days, i really f*****g struggle with the amount of stuff i have going on at the moment to the point where i actually lose my memory when my brain is too tired, i forget the simplest of things ... and that’s stressful and worrying (work, training for the service, dance rehearsals, being a single mum, keeping a house and two dogs, personal changes and worries that are currently happening to the people closest to me within my world) so thank you friends (kirsty, sophie, lina & garry) don’t know what i’d do without you. ☁️ #mentalhealth #bekind #mind #relax #stress #help #kindness #busy #friends #rudeness #rude #helpinghand
