double tap if you love to work your legs and bottom!! you do not need a gym, machines or heavy weights to work your lower body. this requires very little space, no gym or equipment! (i did with my @dynamicfitness bands from @rfe_fitness , but this can most definitely be done without!) this is great if you’re traveling or on the go this weekend! 💥 options for beginners: take the jumping out, make your rest time longer or don’t do as many reps! no excuses!!! .

5s w/ 430 ( 5 total sets ) squat
5s w/ 290 ( 5 total sets ) bench
i’m stronger, i’m stronger because today, my secondary squat and bench day out of the three are usually terrible . 95% of these days out of prep i either bomb 💣 on squats and bench... but i muscled through today , i really wanted to quit on both 5th sets but jose was watching so i had to fight it.

gotta keep going for myself , i need to finish what i started.

Gotta love leg day...hit 285 on squats for 10-12reps at 8 sets...i had to take a break cuz this type of cardio sucks!!! also through in lots of calf exercises. i’ve been using this #tibiamachine to get the front section of my calf a little stronger!

When i wrote this on the @anytime_cullman board back in january, i was excited, carrying a ton of momentum into my first meet. i fully expected to crush my own prs at that meet, and i fully expected 1500+ in 2020. things don’t go as planned sometimes. the groin/abdominal strains were certainly a setback. with my mental health being what it is, it would have been easier to quit. wayyyyy easier. but, after i completed my first 5x5 on squats since getting hurt, i reminded myself there’s still 10 months left. 2019 sucked. 2020 doesn’t have to be that way. i’ll reach this goal or die under a barbell trying. i’m not great in this sport, and probably won’t ever be, but i can still be the greatest i’ve ever been. #10? #illdropitin8 .

lat pulldowns in general are great for creating a wider back. whether you are a male or female lat pulldowns are an essential to have in your program! this will also make your waist look smaller as well giving you a v taper look. so don’t ignore your lats guys!

Today’s strength workout with @coachmelmovement, my lifting and accountability buddy. ⁣

mel programmed the accessories to our main lift: back squats.⁣
logic behind the program: primarily a leg focused day with a dash of pull ups as we are both competing in the #tacticalstrengthchallenge on may 9 which requires max number of pull ups.⁣

back squats 3x5 145lbs⁣
pull ups 3x 8⁣
single leg deadlift with 18kg:  3x 10l 10r⁣

finished up with sled pushes:⁣
3 rounds of 40 yards: 50lbs, 40lbs 30lbs⁣

it took us 1.5 hours and i think it’s because we were chatting. we also like to workout with no lights on. we’re both vampires.⁣

what i wanted to highlight about this workout is that with strength training, simple is still strong.⁣

i had such a busy day today (as most days...) but i was able to get to the gym, without stress.
i just want to share some of my thoughts about time management and methods that i’ve learned throughout life. ☘️first, when you’re juggling a busy schedule - always make sure that you have time for yourself. sooner or later, if you’re in it for the long run, you’ll need to take care of your self. ☘️find what makes you relaxed and happy, to find balance in your life. to me, it´s having a nice workout. it works as a form of stress relief and relaxation. knowing that, i always make sure no matter how busy my schedule gets, i’ll still leave time for a workout. ☘️when you’re living a busy life, time management and prioritization are the keys. my main method for scheduling and managing my time is to always keep track of what’s coming up and making reminders for myself everyday. i usually try to look ahead about a week or two just to see what’s coming and block it out on my calendar. both work and workouts! i use weekcal as my private calendar and outlook at work but they are always synced on all my devices. 🙋🏻‍♀️ what´s your best method of stress-relief and time management?

So...when i first started this program i really didn't like deload week. i wanted to always push as hard as possible.😉

now i looooooove it. i have noticed, especially with leg day, i avoid or want to avoid it after a while. why? cause it's hard and sometime i am not mentally wanting an unnecessary hard thing (working out)! enter deload week! still working out but mentally and physically easier.♥️

⁣squats are by far one of the best exercises you can do!⠀

🔹you use your legs daily to move around, stand, and sit. this is why squats provide a foundation for your legs, hips, core and joints to move around with comfort. 🚶‍♀️🚶👣⠀

🔹there are a lot of mechanics that go into squats. in addition, a lot of people lack the mobility in hips,knees or ankles to execute a proper squat. ⠀

🔹i have provided a series of squat variations that you can work your way up to.⠀

1⃣ box squat: i always suggest everyone start with this squat before you do anything else because they are a safe option. box squats teach/maintain proper technique. it also helps minimizes the stress in the knees. if you start with ‘sitting’ then standing with box squats, try to progress your way to barely touching the box and stand back up.⠀

2⃣supportive wall ball squat: this variation is great because it gives you back support (if you have back problems) with providing a similar resistance to a body weight squat. in addition is allows you to develop balance and good posture.⠀

3⃣body weight squat: if your back feels good and you have good balance this is the next progression. you are still providing resistance by using body weight alone. body weight squats help increase strength in hips,ankle mobility and muscular strength in glutes, hamstrings and quads.⠀

4⃣sumo squats: when individuals are ready to start adding weight to their squats this is the first one i suggest. sumo squats naturally help push hips back and chest up ( which are very important mechanics for proper squats). ⠀

5⃣goblet squat: this is the last progression i have individuals use when they have mastered the sumo squat. once an individuals has good squat form, with no back or hip injuries, i suggest the goblet squat. this is a full body movement that works on quads, glutes, calves and the core. ⠀

*️⃣in all squat movements, it’s very important to push your knees outward! if you see your knees caving in, try to reduce weight or start from the basics to get used to pushing knees outward. *️⃣⠀

Leg press is a simple exercise building muscle strength. this variation allows you to drop deeper
performing greater stretch of quads, calfs and glutes. what you need to focus on is to keep back
straight and not to allow pelvis tilt (especially during drop down motion), which can cause body to

squats have been one of my dreaded lifts since november.. 😢 3-4 weeks out from my december comp, i failed my top sets for 3 consecutive sessions - (which is a ducking disaster; see next ⬅️ me failing my 3 rep set for 100kg) and ever since then, i’ve completely lost my confidence and groove for the lift. ⁣

after the comp, i’ve tried to “rebuild” with lower weights for weeks in hk but my squats still haven’t been feeling the same....⁣

today’s squat session wasn’t any pr or impressive numbers, but it gave me so much more confidence in my new set up with everything feeling so buttery & fast!! 🧈i can smell dat squat pr coming soon 😏😏 (haven’t had a 1rm pr since october lol #yikes)

The last few weeks i’ve embarked on a f*t loss journey myself. two reasons. 1, i wanna go through the experience myself to know what my clients experience when they want to go through f*t loss as well.

and 2. it feels great being leaner. not just with how you look but how you feel too.
.
truth be told i’ve wanted to do this for a while, but some might look at the first picture and say, “you need to lose fat? ya okay linden!”
.
the difference between these two pictures is 1 month and about 7lbs. but the truth is i feel way better. i’m still strong in my workouts, but i am able to have more energy for my family. which is huge.
.
this post has 2 major points. 1, of you are looking to lean out, follow along as i’m gonna give a ton of handy info that helps me and my clients. and 2: no one else can say your goal sucks. if you want to lose some weight because you know you’ll feel better, do it! if you want to hang at the same weight, that’s cool too! don’t let someone else tell say your goal is stupid, or anything silly like that.

saw @rgarza63 do these last week so we had to give them a try. boy o boy are they different. forced old f*t a*s to straight up & down squat like you powerlifters today do. 🤨 but i really like them. gonna add chains next time. i would recommend you never band this bar for front squats. you can, but probably poor choice.

Been a long time since i've put 405 up on the squat rack. longgg time. not the best squat either. i'd like to drop a my a*s a bit more but at least i got parallel. i prefer to k**l my legs with lots of reps, i like to keep the weight around 315-350, so i usually don't go this heavy but i felt like doing something different. #personaltrainer #clubfitness #liftlocal #legday #squatday
