#4 last thing is just touching on the pain outweighing the drive statement. when you’re “training” we always talk about getting out of our comfort zones... while i agree with that to an extent i also believe in order to get the desired outcome out of training we should also practice in comfortable situations. like if i’m training max sets of pull ups or muscle ups i’ll where gloves sometimes because my skin will fail before my muscles do and that is not the desired outcome.

remember that everything is made up. stigmas on wearing gloves, certain things make you weak... it’s all made up, just train the way you feel best and don’t give a s**t about what anyone else says! unless they are your trainer... listen to those people lol

🔥 pull-ups vs. chin-ups - which is better? by @jonashereora

there's a big debate on which is better, the pull-up (pronated / overhand grip) or the chin-up (supinated / underhand grip).

🤷‍♂️ they are actually very similar at targeting the latissimus dorsi and developing a wider and stronger back.

the biggest difference is that the chin-up activates the biceps more than the pull-up, and can therefor seem easier to perform for some people.

🤕 the chin-up is also considered to be easier on the shoulder for those with shoulder joint issues.

most people will feel that the pull-up is working the lats more, but studies show that they're almost identical on targeting the lats.

💪 as long as you're performing one of them correct and progressively overloading, you're probably going to see great results in back development over time.

taking the wrong approaches to certain aspects of your training can really slow your progress. if you learn to master these certain things, you're putting yourself in a much better position for long term gains.
-
first off, use a workout routine that fits your schedule. if you are on a 6 day push/pull/legs split but can really only go to the gym 4 times a week, then you're not maximizing your chances to grow. if you can only go to the gym 4 days a week, use an upper/lower split. make sure, along with a routine that fits your schedule, to train your body parts 2-3x/week. whether you're training 3,4,5 or 6 days a week, you can still get a lot of volume on all body parts. spreading out the training of your body parts to multiple times a week will force more frequency on it, and will be easier to do rather than obliterating a body part once a week. third, train heavy, by training for both strength and hypertrophy. many will only train light and go for the pump. these people usually don't make as much progress. lastly, stay consistent! the routine you're on won't bring great results if you are not consistent with it. you can't expect to see great results if you are constantly skipping workouts multiple times a week. stay on point, be as consistent as possible, and the results will come!

Jeg var på besøg i aarhus crossfit i dag - medbringende lækkert program fra @the_kring_of_weightlifting og masser af overskud 🏋️‍♀️😃 der var 3’ere, 2’ere og 1’ere på programmet - alt sammen fra hæng, og med fokus på hurtig kontakt med stangen i bunden - det havde jeg faktisk en helt god følelse af i dag 🙌🏼😀 de høje h*v fra gulvet er jeg til gengæld ikke bedste venner med, men så må man øve sig 🤪
noget andet jeg øver mig på, er at hive mig selv op, og det går fint fremad - altså i en stang bliver det til halvanden 🙈😂 men fremgang er fremgang, og jeg bliver ved med at hive, så skal der nok komme flere 😘💪🏼 frokost og kaffe på we feat (ja ja, samme som i går - jeg er ikke altid så opfindsom, og det var lige så lækkert i dag, som i går, så alt er godt 😋)

Simple x repetition = results.

if your main agenda during workouts is entertainment, don't scratch your head wondering why you're not getting results. simple repetition is what it takes to get the physical results you want.
.
go to soulcycle or barry's bootcamp if you want to be entertained. but hate to break it to you... those classes won't provide you the results you are working for.
.
ask yourself:

1️⃣ are the exercises in my workouts different every week? ✅ it's ok to have some variety but the meat and potatoes of your workout should remain constant for at least 3 to 4 weeks – you should strive for progression in your movement quality.

2️⃣ are my workouts solely filled with movements or exercises that i'm really good at? ✅ your workouts should include "hard" exercises that work on your weaknesses – those are usually the best exercises for you.
3️⃣ do i use the same weight, reps, exercise tempo, and or rest intervals every workout? ✅ look to make small improvements each week – doesn't always have to be lifting more weight. maybe add a pause at the bottom of a squat or decrease your rest breaks for 5 sec.

4️⃣ is there a purpose or intent to my training this month? ✅ knowing your "why" for each workout and for each month not only saves time and leads to more focused, efficient workouts but you will also be more motivated when you see small improvements.

I want to share some exercise variations with you i am currently training in the kow-1rm program and tell you why i implemented these.

1. paused dips
these ones help to strengthen the point of return (por) which is a sticking point for a lot of people in weighted dips. also you are forced to adjust your technique to keep your chest closed on the way down to be able to control the weight in the por and open it once you are pushing back up again to get optimal use of your chest muscles.
2. tempo pull ups
it’s common during pull ups and chins to pull hard at the bottom and to use this acceleration to kind of „curl“ your chin over the bar. tempo pull ups, in this case (tempo 123), will force you to pull equally over the full rom. this can improve your mind muscle connection, technique and possible sticking points.
3. paused squats
same principle as for the paused dips. find the right body position for the hardest part of the movement and the way up (breathing, lumbar spine, thoracic spine). fight that sticking point and get your technique on point. pin squats would also do the job here. ▪️
