Can you spot the difference between these two photos? not really? ⁣

the photo on the left was taken a year ago, photo on the right today. since then i’ve put on about 5kg - hard to tell right?⁣

often we think that putting on weight means putting on body f*t but that’s just not what happens when your powerlifting or doing any kind of weight training. i hate it when people say lifting weights makes you bulky - it’s just not the case!

Got in my head today. been having issues w my elbows and my achilles tendon these past few days. felt good enough to squat but still worried me and it stayed in the back of my head 🤦🏼‍♀️ power was there but my descent was sloppy and walkout was wobbly 🙈 1st vid is 330 for 5 and 2nd is for a forced 6 reps 😂 forced yes, kinda like r**e w a cactus... dry 😂🙄🌵

Damn. back to reality!

330 (90%) a single felt like a f*cking max, followed by a lighter 3x4 with 285 (77.5%; yes that’s 285, camera angle doesn’t show it). going deeper than ever before but still, hips felt tight and squat just hasn’t clicked these first few sessions.

not worried about the rpe, my legs are just out of shape. just gotta keep building. i’ve been on a bit of a high horse after that surprise 405 pull. the fact i pulled 405 with my legs being this out of shape makes me happy but i need to snap out of this sh!t.

Squats 255kg x3. focusing on staying within the realms of any technical failure for the reasons listed below.⬇️⬇️⬇️
as you get stronger, the less room for error there is and you should be more critical on keeping technique as perfect as possible, as slight devitions under heavy load can have big consequence. powerlifting is still a skill and the better you execute that skill, the stronger you become over time.
even if you're physically strong enough to lift more weight than you did with slight break downs, you'll get more out of a better quality set with less weight because it's better quality practice.
you will hit pr's with better tech and more often by operating at an 8-9 rpe and staying withtin the realm of technical failure and treating slight deviations critically.

less chance of injury, better skill at lifting and more frequent pr's at the cost of using 5-10kg less load than you physically could. there's only gain to be made with this approach, and by improving your skill, the numbers you need to hit will be there on comp day.👍

lmao i did the same weight for the bench press as my squat for yesterday and i did 2 reps of it today for bench. that 230lb for bench for the 2 reps was smooth i should’ve gon up in weight but i always doubt myself of passing the 2 plates but next time i’m def gon be increasing the weight that’s for sure. my bench numbers be going crazy i’m mad hyped to see the progress improve. this pwrbld program really be testing my strength lmao.

Cerebrus rebound wraps review:
i've been waiting my whole life for a pair of knee wraps that complemented my squat stance. i was skeptical at first, because i pre-rolled these wraps and really cranked them on and they were comfortable to wear. they feel like wearing two pairs of thick knee sleeves at the same time. they don't hurt my knee joints, i hit natural depth with them on, and they don't pitch me forward when i bounce out of the hole. bruh/10.

🚨read if you’re not progressing🚨

i haven’t touched anything over 600lbs for over a month but exactly 1 year ago, i pulled 500 for 3 reps so i tested my progress. understand, i’m currently 20% below my normally calories due to weight cut and i still was able to get 3 reps with this with more in the tank. 100lbs is a huge jump in 1 year!💥


so many times, people will say things like “you have great genetics” or “you’re naturally a strong guy” amongst other excuses, not realizing that what they don’t see is years of trail and error, and effort, and sweat, and coaching, and discipline, and just flat out hustle for the results you’ve been able to create. 💥


everyone is capable of doing all of the things i mentioned above but the most important component that people neglect is coaching! without good coaching, progress will stall, which directly effects your confidence. 💪


if you’re doing the work necessary for success (whether it’s in the gym or business or relationships or finances) but you’re hitting a wall, it may be time to invest in yourself and start working with a coach that has a track record of success! 🙌

3 common mistakes with ohp 🏋🏾‍♂️

the overhead press is one of the most functional upper body movements that involve a lot of muscles! this has great reward but with great reward comea risk!
.
these are the common mistakes we see with the ohp 👎🏾⤵️
1️⃣ arching back: this is usually caused by not engaging the core and glutes.
2️⃣ incorrect bar path: this is usually cased from not morning the head out of the way of the bar. could be also be from tight traps.
3️⃣ partial range of motion: caused from not extending fully at the elbow. could be lack of mobility in the shoulders.

if you have one or more of these issues you may not be fully ready to perform a proper ohp. in tomorrows post we will talk about how to progress to a overhead press!

today was a short workout just had alot on my mind and the only place i can just forget everything is the gym. i did bench & conventional deadlifts since i haven't done them in a long time.

i didnt record this but i finally had the courage to ask someone to spot me. i was doing 115lbs and last i did it by myself the bar almost killed me lol. i did 3 reps which isnt bad. hopefully when i'm done with my deload i can move up weights.
