with our lives on a highlight reel, it’s extremely easy to only see the good people are going through.... absolutely 🙅🏼‍♀️ no one and i mean no one 🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️ is 💯% honest with their struggles on here, it’s all made to seem as if “it’s not that bad” but shiii guys, that’s not real, nor should we think that, sometimes shii gets bad and it’s gets hard, not saying that you have to blast it over social media but seriously guys... remember you’re allowed to feel those negative feels but deal with those negative feels, don’t let them absorb you, don’t avoid these uncomfortable emotions, embrace them and find out why they’re coming to the surface. ✨

Genuinely so grateful for the year i had. this year was honestly so eventful for me. a lot of great memories and discoveries made, and a lot of major losses and lessons learned as well. i had a really tough year this year, and honestly have really been struggling mentally. but i realized the reason i have been so uncomfortable these last few months is because i am ready to go through another growing phase. things dont feel right because i am in need of change, mentally. i have to give myself room to grow and change and adapt into the life that i want for myself. this was another major year of discovering myself and want i want out of the world and the people around me and what i want for myself. i am soo grateful for everyone who supported me in anyway this past year and am so excited to keep learning about myself & bettering myself. .

1️⃣get your heart pumping. increased heart thumping warms up your muscles and switches on your nervous system..
2️⃣do some dynamic stretches,stretch your warm muscles,but don’t hold it.
3️⃣practice. move through the exercise planned for that days •( like mine today for my leg day after)•workout at a lower intensity!
4️⃣also when your muscles are extremely sore from a previous workout ,you will need to take more time to warm up !!

Another leg day in the bag!🍻🍻🍻 exercise 1 low anderson squat
did these last the previous leg workout, and moved them to first this workout. this can be an excellent plateau breaking strategy.
did a set of 10 with my old 5 rep max... pretty happy with that! then 5 backdown sets of 6-8 reps.

this is great for adductors, quads and the ability to stay tight and find your position at the bottom. it's much more difficult than normal squatting!
exercise 2 paused high bar back squat
did 8 reps with my 7 rep max, breaking a 2.5 year pr. pretty happy especially as it was the second exercise! then i attempted and failed a new 1 rep max, then did 6 backdown sets of 5 reps.

these are easier than andersons, even if they look similar, they're definitely not!! try them both out!
exercise 3 hamstring curls
one all out set. this was one set of twenty, then partial reps in the bottom position till failure. i'll make a more detailed post about this method later.

my hamstrings were still sore from the rdls 3 days ago, so was just getting a bit of stimulus, nothing crazy. know when to hold back!

Best single leg exercise ever🦵 .

no doubt this is the best and most rewarding, single leg 🦵 exercise i have come across! two reasons why? very challenging its uses a lot of the lower body musculature and core stabilising muscles 💪🏼. two in life but especially in sports, we stand or use leg at time a lot more than you think🤔 .

pro tip -
very few perform this exercise correctly! make sure your knees stay over your foot 🦶 at all times.. to ensure the work stays on your quads and ensure hip extension at the top of the movement for posterior chain⛓ recruitment glutes etc. keep your spine neutral, bend at the hip crease and knee on the lowering phase⬇️. then drive up⬆️ rather than back, to keep all the work on your quads and glutes👍🏼

During this morning’s lean legs blend workout, @elisejoanfitness mentioned the importance of celebrating small triumphs.⁣

th is stuck with me until the end of my workout because i feel like it’s so in line with my philosophy when it comes to my morning routine.⁣

mornings can be tough. dragging yourself out of your comfy bed and getting ready to face whatever the day has in store for you can be daunting. i personally used to suffer from so much anxiety in the mornings because i just didn’t know what would happen and i hated that so much of it was out of my control.⁣

to be honest, i still feel like that sometimes, especially when i’m not taking care of myself.⁣

that’s why i think it’s so important to set a very specific routine for yourself to follow every morning. this routine is something that you control on a daily basis. it helps build the confidence you need for the next 20-some hours of your day. ⁣

and, after ticking off so many things from your to do list before you even “start your day”, you’ll already feel accomplished and will be able to celebrate those triumphs!⁣
