Ok, this one flat out kills...but it’s awesome! it’s equal parts core, conditioning, and chest. try and “stick” the v-sit on each rep to make sure you’re not just swinging your body back and forth. this can be made more difficult with lighter dumbbells. how you ask? because they will be shorter - making your pushups flatter (and harder) and the clearance for your feet to come through even lower (and harder!!). give it a try and let me know how you do! let the gains begin 👊🏻💪🏻 #abs #pushup #lsit #thatsnotjeff #heswearingashirt #trainhard #calisthenics #teamathlean #athleanx #jeffcavaliere

I mentioned the importance of the bottom up rotation of the abs. the twisting pistons is another way to do it. i've been doing the @athleanx 8 weeks ab challenge and it has been kicking my ass. keep in mind that this is one of my better tortures (i mean exercises). some of them i still find hard to complete without taking additional rest. ball busters. good.

Pushups are for pushing yourself up, not necessarily for training chest. in this case the workout is mainly upper back and scapula. place yourself flat on the ground, arms straight out, fingers directed out, move hands one handlength in, elbows up and push away.

rethinking the purpose of exercises is as good an exercise for your mind as it is utilizing it for your body. once more looking for inspiration from #jeffcavaliere from #athleanx and then incorporating the ideas in my own workouts is raising the joy of training again.

It's monday! so it's time to move a bit. swipe left to watch the videos.

as you can see from both videos, i got both my clients who are seniors to do a movement flow with a weighted ball.

below are some of the things that are being worked on while doing this flow.

1. shoulder mobility when circling the ball around the head.

2. spinal mobility (rotation) while turning the upper body

3. single leg stability while doing the forward lunge.

as we age, our mobility tends to deteriorate. so doing this movement flow helps keep the shoulders and spine mobile while we can work on single leg stability and strength as well.

lastly, thank you @mvolversg for introducing me to flow. it has helped my clients a lot and i'm now addicted to playing around with movement!

Saturday and sunday smash out time! thrilled to come up with my first chained combo, as shown in all 3 videos, i'm not very confident in padwork as of yet.

i have mixed feelings about this row today. sore it band, from last saturday’s row, but i mixed together a good plan thanks to #jeffcavaliere for helping with the stretches and thanks to #cameronbuchan for the play by play for how to improve form and power in every s****e (how to row the erg vs. how not to row the erg). my towel “pad”, with 8.5k left to go started feeling like a steel morning star every time i came to the catch. i gave up and used my “wipe my face” towel as double padding when i got to 6k my b**t hurt so bad but the second towel didn’t help much by then. i couldn’t get grounded, focused my form was off and it took about 2k to figure out how i was gonna have the strength to make it and not just give up. in the end it was my breathing pattern that saved me. i remembered the breathing pattern i held for a long time during the half marathon; a 2:06 split 21sr (s/m). i just held that for the last 4 or so kilometers speeding up in the last 2 when i powered through it. but it humbled me quite a bit.

The sumo deadlift- one of the best exercises to build overall strength and hamstring. added to my leg workout session recently, this is 176lb of intensity type reps. i have done 220lb for minimum reps 2-4. sticking to the weight which you can pull through for 6-8 reps would be much more efficient than going all out. mix up your weights and don't try to stick to just light weight or just heavy weight. mix everything up and try new things and you will see better results, proven by #athleanx #jeffcavaliere
form may not be absolutely perfect, it will take time to master a compound movement like it did for me to learn the traditional lift.

what you will need:
1. band
2. some triceps to blast!

they’re tricep extensions..with a twist! you get a fully activated tricep at the very end!


cue’s

• position the arm into position with tension applied.

• flex tricep before you begin.

• full extension and flexion throughout movement.

heres the fun part

once you fail at the end of your set (and cant complete another rep on your own):

you then:

apply just enough force (with your other hand) to help you complete another 5-10 reps with full flexion.

Abs-rotation through hanging windshield wipers. truly a killer of obliques, this is one of my absolute favourites in heavy ab-exercises.keep focus on control and the results will follow.

it's not like these things don't work. anything, even s****d programs and loose diet plans work if you are consistent and do till a long long time.

some people respond really well to any kind of training and got an illusion that the way they are doing will work for everyone coz it worked for them. in fact, anything could've worked for them.

my best advice is for everyone to not be stubborn to think against that one youtuber you follow, that one program you follow. try different approaches. try different things.
best program is the one which always motivates you and keep you happy.
best diet is the one that you can stick to for lifetime.

Tried the @athleanx barbell hold challenge... kinda nailed it💪💪.
the challenge is to hold an olympic size barbell on your forearms for a minute.
it seems like a normal 20kgs olympic barbell at the beginning, but once you get past 10 seconds it magically starts to gain weight. ps ignore my expressions.

Chasing the biceps burn! controlled, with elbows and arms slightly extended infront of the body, there is no rest ing position in the bottom. having your tailbone and shoulderblades stuck to something solid also hinders cheating in the curls.
