Full body home workout! such a fun workout that doesn’t require a lot of space and only a kettlebell and some sliders. if you don’t have a kettlebell, use a heavier dumbbell. my kettlebell is 35 lbs and if you don’t have sliders use socks or paper plates

4 oz runner bean(100 g)⁣
15 oz broccoli(100 g)⁣
15 oz gnocchi(500 g)⁣
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese(100 g)⁣
1 cup grated parmesan cheese(100 g)⁣
3 tbsp single cream(50 ml)⁣
1 tsp pepper⁣

👨‍🍳preparation👩‍🍳⁣
1. preheat the oven to 350f(180c).⁣
2. bring some water to the boil in a saucepan and boil the runner beans and broccoli for 2-3 minutes.⁣
3. take them out of the water and set aside.⁣
4. in the same boiling water, cook the gnocchi for 2 minutes (or, until it floats to the top of the water). drain.⁣
5. in the same saucepan, mix the drained gnocchi, runner beans, broccoli, mozzarella, parmesan, cream, and pepper.⁣
6. pour into an ovenproof dish and bake for 5 minutes, or until the cheese bubbles.⁣
7. serve and enjoy🌱😋⁣

No cardio today, but banged out two quickie lifts. i hit arms and calves, took a 3-4 min break, and then hit shoulders and traps. i had a solid burn for both lifts and completed 7-8 sets for each one. just keep lifting! 🏋🏾‍♂️

I struggled with lower back pain for many years. i think the combination of being hypermobile & doing extreme yoga poses without having proper strength was the root to my pain.
.
my ego & a lack of clarity about what my yoga practice truly was for me, also played a huge part....but that's a whole other post!
.
i was guided by many practitioners to strengthen my core, which did help but doing glute & hamstring strengthening is what made the biggest difference!
.
try some of these moves for yourself. i think they're fun & can be added into your yoga practice to change things up.
.
i personally wouldn't recommend if your currently experiencing back pain.
build up slowly & add more!🔥

who said you can’t train your legs with only bodyweight? not only can you train them, but you can make them very strong, flexible, and durable. the muscles of your legs and hips are the biggest muscles in your body so needless to say it’s a good idea to train them. you need them strong and flexible for a variety of things like sports, but you also need them strong and flexible in various angles. -

1. elevated deep lunge
2. elevated shrimp squat
3. back leg elevated lunge
4. side lunge squat
5. single leg deadlift

weighted squats are all good too, we are not anti-weightlifting. weighted squats are a great way to build up those big muscles in your legs. but it’s not the only option, and sometimes it’s not the best option. it all depends on your goals and values so choosing the right exercises that reflect that is very important. -

Good posture is important for all ages; spending hours sitting or being glued to gadgets and gizmos can lead to hunched shoulders and forward head posture.
shoulders back and down - if you notice you’re starting to get the rounded shoulder look then act on it now because it is usually reversible. hunching your shoulders forward can impact the muscles of your neck, shoulders and upper back leading to pain in these areas. push your shoulders back and down and try to keep your ears above the centre of your shoulders. a good exercise is to grip your hands behind your back and hold for 10 seconds, feeling your chest opening up. repeat 3 times.

pelvic tilt - many people stand with their bum sticking out, which creates too much of a curve in the lower spine and can lead to imbalances and back pain. tuck your pelvis under, creating a neutral spine, so that your hips properly support your whole upper body. a good exercise is the bridge - lie on your back with your feet on the floor and knees bent - push your hips up and hold in a bridge position for 10 seconds then gradually relax your body down and repeat.
just making these 2 postural adjustments on a daily basis will make a big difference to your posture going forward 💪🏻💕

De-stress your life for the week….
many of us are chronically stressed out. chronic stress = f*t storing mode .
you could be doing everything right with your diet and exercise, but if you are still holding on to a few extra pounds (especially in your belly), then there’s a very good chance it could be because of your stress levels.
.
we all have a hormone in our body called cortisol.  cortisol is our body’s natural “fight-or-flight” hormone and is dubbed our “stress hormone.”
.
when we’re being attacked by a bear in the woods, cortisol and adrenaline (epinephrine) in our bodies shoot up, allowing us to be able to have clear focus on the situation and giving us the energy to sprint as fast as we can away from the bear.
.
the main problem is, we are not sprinting away from a bear.  we are stressed out at work, sitting in traffic, or dealing with personal situations that are causing us chronic levels of increased cortisol.
.
now…..all of that sugar has been released into our bloodstream for sprinting in the woods, except we’re not sprinting anywhere…..so it’s all getting stored as belly fat.
.
cortisol also reduces your immune system. so when you’re chronically exposed to stress, your immune system is chronically compromised.
.
chronic stress is one of the main contributors to weight gain and obesity, getting sick, having less energy, and depression.
.
the good news is that stress levels can be managed with a little persistence and dedication to the process..
.
here are a few ways to decrease your stress:
⚡️exercise (this will definitely help, try out my #sweatymommy)
⚡️reduce your sugar intake (in fact, try to eliminate all hfcs)-join our free sugar detox challenge
⚡️try meditation /yoga( join our 8am yoga with @maternal_root
⚡️start taking omega 3′s (like walnuts, flax, chia)
⚡️disconnect: turn off your computer & cell for at least an hour
⚡️try to find at least 10-15 min a day of peace and quiet
⚡️find 10-15 minutes to be outside in the sunshine
⚡️get a massage!
