Back under a barbell but working snatches and over head squats. ya girl is still not comfortable catching in a squat but it’s coming along. kept the weight at 75lbs for this complex since i’m working on the stability aspect of these movements. do i have the strength to go heavier? yeah, but i also have the wisdom not to let my ego control me in the gym. knowing when to go heavy and when to back off is key to staying injury free. know your body. 💙

Last september i broke my elbow in a very silly accident and felt so defeated and frustrated that i wasn’t going to be able to train and that i would lose the progress i had made. our bodies and minds are so incredible and every day, i have to remind myself that i get the opportunity to try again and that my body is now able to do all these things. i’m so grateful for my health and the fact that i am physically capable of doing what i love!
i have a long ways to go with technique and strength but i’m excited to lift a heavy barbell again and get back into crossfit. here’s to progress!! 🙌🏽💪🏽

Um breve relato e 2 dicas construtivas para praticar lpo🏋️‍♂️ nos treinos de crossfit!

🧘‍♂️quando comecei praticar crossfit, há 5 anos atrás, sempre ouvia das pessoas (coloca mais peso... cabe mais ae... você é forte... esse peso está leve em... por ae segue). porém, nesse tempo de experiências adquiridas (sobre fracassos, conquistas, lesões e superações) busquei ouvir minha intuição e seguir no contexto, onde menos é mais... sendo assim obtendo um aprendizado e sabedoria em função de lapidar e tornar o ego saudável durante a prática, que por sinal também agrega a diferentes contextos de vida... (sendo que no crossfit ou qualquer outra modalidade, o espírito competitivo, se não for compreendido e bem gerenciado), pode te levar para inúmeras consequências negativas, pois existem sabotagens do ego que te levam a pular etapas de evolução saudável. .
🍃por isso, venho compartilhar algo que aprendi nesses 5 anos de experiência. .

🏋️‍♂️ 1° dica - para os iniciantes, respeitem as etapas de evolução contínua, pois o peso é consequência de uma boa técnica. por mais que você seja forte (força é uma das 10 capacidades físicas trabalhadas no crossfit)... e para o desconhecido é necessário paciência e determinação, matenha o foco no processo que os resultados surgem. .

🏋️‍♂️2° dica - para os já praticantes, que ficaram ausentes da prática, devido alguma questão pessoal.... situação de vida.... ou prioridades em outras tarefas. lembrem-se sempre de dar 2 passos para trás no retorno aos treinos (esse é o meu contexto atual no vídeo) pois sua mentalidade pode até estar pronta, porém suas estruturas físicas (articulares, musculares) necessitam de um breve período de prática, para readaptações e ativações neurais em função de suportar tais cargas já praticadas anteriormente. .

Yo, today was one of those days where strength was there the focus was there everything was feeling good, but the cool thing about this is, that even tho your strength goes up and you can lift the weight, you always have to work on the technique, every single time your strength goes up your technique has to evolve with it, and thats what makes this an on going process that you dont get bored of, cause you are always trying to better yourself.

being "strong" dont mean you good at this, being "strong" gives you the opportunity the be great at this.💀

Stuff nobody cares about. (unless you’re mega into crossfit, maybe). 👀🤸🏻‍♂️🏋🏻‍♀️🚣🏻‍♂️ never focus on bar work so did my apparent, 2 monthly, 10 minutes worth of s****h practise. upto 50 today. all of which looked and felt questionable, but hey ho, that’s why we practise 💁🏻‍♀️ then joined in a 3 rounds of:
5 power cleans (50)
5 ring pull ups
5 dips
5 strict hspu. 🤸🏻‍♂️ ....then, the class. which got spicy 🌶 enjoying feeling comfortable enough to do extra bits again and work on weak points. 👌🏼😊

The hang s****h is a s****h variation that is popular among olympic weightlifters, competitive fitness athletes, and sports athletes alike. it can work to increase the rate of force development at the hip, enhance s****h technique, and even be used to increase explosiveness in all level athletes.
how to perform hang snatch:
1. start by assuming the proper s****h width, so that the barbell is at your hip crease and your arms are straight (no elbow bend). your chest should be tall and your posture erect, with the shoulders pulled together and down towards the hips.

2. to descend into the hang, push your hips back and to allow the barbell to move down the thighs. the knees should be slightly bent so that the shins are perpendicular to the floor. it is vital to keep your chest over the barbell, so that the arms are getting pulled straight down (shoulders on top of the barbell). 3. once you have reached the hang position (which can be above the knee, below the knee, or a few inches off the floor), you need to fully extend the torso and legs to produce a vertical force unto the barbell.

oooh, we back on track with @theathleteprogram now we got those pesky quallies done and dusted. this morning was 5 rounds on the dumbbells, bike, and ghd with a lovely 90secs off inbetween.

really pleased to hit this heavy double after a fail, and then go 90% for three sets. got a bit more frustrated with my #squats, unfortunately - that reverse s**t drop when i stand up winds me up!

Clean 120x2. Двойные 120, йеее. Вообще, долго бился над 120, и через пару недель после первого сингла осилил уже и дубль. Надо на этой неделе пробовать толкать. Есть какие-то числа, преодолеть которые не столько физически сложно, сколько психологически, пусть это и странно, но 120 одно из них — по два четвертака. Сделал, кстати, еще в прошлый понедельник, а в этот понедельник уже опять цифру обновил, на днях выложу. Суровый понедельник выдался... И рывок обновил, и взятие. Хорошо вышло, только вот пресс до сих пор болит, видимо, настал черед подкачать и бицепс 😅

Attacking your weaknesses using variations is key. so is having a coach and team who understands the lifts and your specific limitations.

i love weightlifting because it allows me to break down every lift, every lifter, and every error... boiling them down to certain movement or properties the must be improved.
_
i don’t talk myself up too much, but i pride myself on the ability to look at a lifter and dissect their movement, and find movements and positions to correct.
_
here’s a very challenging s****h complex, for me, that reinforced aggression in the pull and forces me to pull the bar higher (i am able to sneak under a lot of heavy snatches, so this really makes me be aggressive af)
_

Teaching these beginner lifters how to snatch!

combining high block powers with a simply stick drill to reinforce the lifter to continue to pull up on the bar throughout the extension phases of the lift.
_
simply hold the stick at chest heigh of the standing athlete (or higher) to force them to hit the stick and turn the bar over.
_
many lifters cut their pull short, even after the hip. this is great to help them understand what it feel like to keep pulling!
_
