as contradictory as it sounds (since we tend to believe exercising will make us tired) exercise will actually improve and increase your energy levels. yep, you read that right.
simply put, exercise strengthens your circulation, your heart’s efficiency and your muscles while increasing the movement of your joints and the speed of your metabolism. as your body adapts, you’ll see energy your levels rise since you no longer have to work so hard to do everything.
so if you’re “too tired to exercise,” that’s exactly why you should be exercising.

If i could give you one tip to help you be healthier, it’s to stop stressing over the little details about what’s “best” for your training results and instead start focusing on what’s most practical to your lifestyle that allows for consistent adherence. 🤗⁣

too often we get stuck and overwhelmed with the small details as we try to make ourselves a plan that can bring us the “best” results. ⁣

“should i be eating 3 big meals or 6 small ones?”🤔⁣
“what time should i start and stop eating?”⁣
“what supplements should i take?”⁣
“how much vegan soy free gluten free carb free paleo cbd infused keto friendly cookies should i eat?”🙄⁣

these are all examples of things that don’t matter as much as people are led to believe. and i believe this happens partly because of how we are bombarded with flashy “fitness info” on social media platforms with headlines telling us “x is the best way to see results”⁣

but realistically, fitness isn’t as flashy as the media makes it out to be. 🤷🏻‍♀️⁣

there’s no secret or magic method. it’s all consistency and hard work, day in and day out. you have to focus on the basics and fundamentals and find the balance between what works for you and your lifestyle. ⁣

want to lose fat? understand energy balance and how to be in a calorie deficit first before spending $100 on unnecessary supplements or worrying about meal timing. ⁣

want to build muscle? before jumping into a 7 day/week workout program based on your spur of the moment motivation, take a careful look at your lifestyle and find a training frequency that’s realistic for you. ⁣

while there are definitely factors in our trading or nutrition that could be more optimal, aiming for perfection isn’t always the way to get results. ⁣

getting the basics down is the most important yet people overlook them. it’s easier to believe some magic supplement is going to fix your problems and get you results than actually tracking your calories and being consistent with your training. 🤦🏻‍♀️⁣

nail the basics, be consistent, and find your balance. and boom, the magic will happen. 💥⁣

My current training split 💥

choosing your training split revolves around factors that are specific to you 🙋🏼‍♀️ here are a few factors to consider:

✨ your rest and recovery needs

i am currently on a 7 day training split 🥵😅 i train 2x/ day: gym for about an hour 15 followed by a 45 minute outdoor walk or run 🏃🏼‍♀️ .
this is what my week looks like:
.
❌ monday: legs- glute and hamstring focused. 45 minute outdoor walk
❌ tuesday: back and biceps. 45 minute outdoor walk/ run interval
❌ wednesday: shoulders/ chest/ triceps and abs. 45 minute outdoor walk
❌ thursday: legs- quad focused. 1 hour outdoor yoga flow
❌ friday: upper body circuit. 45 minute outdoor walk
❌ saturday: abs and hiit. 45 minute outdoor walk/ run interval
❌ sunday: 1 hour yoga flow. 45 minute outdoor walk

Tonight my apple watch died mid lift and it took everything in my soul not to just quit then and there. it’s insane how much a watch can motivate my workouts😂 anyone else?? but finished up leg day strong and then walked home in 33° weather. winter has officially hit and i’m not here for it (unless it’s snow and then i’m here for it❄️☃️)•

workout: 1️⃣ 3 mile run 2️⃣ superset| weighted lunges 10 each leg x 4 ; wall sits 25lb plate 30 secs 3️⃣ superset| seated leg curls 10 x4; leg extensions 10 x4 4️⃣ hip thrusts 15x4 5️⃣closed stance squats 20 x3 🏃🏽‍♀️ i also did toe-touches on a plate in-between sets to keep my heart rate up and get some extra cardio in... not something i’ll do everyday cause it’s exhausting lol but it was fuuuun🏃🏽‍♀️

the picture on the left was taken a couple days after i competed in the @ipepros world championship. i was lean as a bean at the time

the picture on the right was taken a week or so ago. i am not prepping for anything - i am simply living my life. enjoying food, crushing my lifts, and feeling d**n good

it’s fun to be ripped and shredded, but it’s not fun to be on a super restrictive diet. it’s not fun to do two a days. it’s not fun to be exhausted all the time.

i like having a little more meat on my bones. i like eating whatever i want when i want (i don’t eat like an asshole.. i’m mindful, but if i want a d**n donut i’m gonna eat one). i like waking up and actually feeling well rested. i like feeling like a she-man in the gym. i like to enjoy my gym sessions.

this isn’t me trying to bash on competing - this is me telling you that i am completely happy where i am at and competing doesn’t fit my current lifestyle.

Finding my balance in nature 🌿
if i’m being honest, i always have a hard time deciding what i want to post on here and what i want to say because i genuinely want whoever comes across my page to be inspired/motivated to reach their fitness goals. i haven’t talked much about my fitness journey so far but i’m not gonna lie it was/has been hard dealing with health and mental issues that have prevented me from being able to workout or go about fitness in a positive way. i’ve overcome so many things to be where i am, years of work that i’ve put into being in the right mindset along with the work in the gym. and that’s what i want people to see. i want people to not feel alone in their health and fitness journey, that is my sole purpose this page. i am proud of where i am but i’ve got such a long way to go and i’m just taking it one day at a time, as you should!

Here’s a new move that i tried in my lower body workout the other day that i loved! it’s a deadlift into a squat; like a more isolated/slow version of a kettlebell swing. i used it as one of my finishers and will definitely be using it again!🤩 but swipe for a full leg day (it was a pretty basic one so didn’t feel the need to film everything!) ➡️

Can’t afford to eat healthy?⁣

i used to never🙅🏻‍♀️ step foot in a grocery store because i’d rather spend my money eating out and buying drinks.⁣

i used to eat out 3-5 times a week, just like any other college student! the drive thru just made it so easy for me to eat like 💩.⁣

i would spend at least $15 on food with a soda, a starbucks drink, or smoothie.⁣

5 x $15 = $75, thats how much i was spending a week eating out...⁣
$75 can get you lean protein, complex carbs, fruits, and veggies for the week!!!⁣

eating out and buying drinks adds up!⁣

if you cut back on buying fast food, drinks, and eating out ➡️ you too can afford healthy living! ⁣

if a typical date night for you is going out to dinner, how about taking a trip to the grocery story and whipping up a meal and dessert at home 🏡⁣

i go out to eat once a week and make it work or not at all..sometimes i’d rather just cook at home! 🙌🏽⁣

Soooo i’ve been so sick since last week, fever and everything😭 i didn’t even get to go to the gym today! hopefully with all the medication i took i feel better tomorrow 😹 can’t wait to go back to the gym and lift some weights 🏋🏻‍♀️ however, it’s the perfect time to make some almond butter energy balls 🤤 so yummy and simple! i like to eat them as a snack or a pre-workout! honestly whenever 🤷🏻‍♀️

Monday who? lol it's a regular day as always but today is the last day of deload.. finished off with conventional deadlifts. decided to take a break from sumos. . i was worried that i wouldn't be able to pull this 275lbs because last time i did conventional deadlifts i was stuck at 265lbs i believe 🤔 or 255lbs i dont f*****g remember lol that's how long i haven't been doing them. surprisingly, i did 3 reps 🏋️‍♀️

today was a short workout just had alot on my mind and the only place i can just forget everything is the gym. i did bench & conventional deadlifts since i haven't done them in a long time.

i didnt record this but i finally had the courage to ask someone to spot me. i was doing 115lbs and last i did it by myself the bar almost killed me lol. i did 3 reps which isnt bad. hopefully when i'm done with my deload i can move up weights.
