for awhile, i looked at past year of life as completely starting over, but as 2019 progressed, i’ve come to see it more so like a new beginning. ⁣
beginning a new chapter in this big book called life. ⁣

i’ve made amazing friends, had the chance to give back, advanced in my career, and grown as a coach & lifter, all while going to school, working, and training. ⁣

to say this year was easy would be a lie,⁣
but i’m farther along now than i was,⁣
and that’s something to be proud of.⁣

Why, why do i workout. it’s a question i’ve been asking myself. i’ve struggled with anxiety and depression my whole life. i didn’t chose it but i got it. so for years i tried to ignore it, suppress it, and thought i really could just fake it till i made it but the thing about that is i’m not a fake person. i didn’t want to fake anything, i wanted to fight back at it and fighting something invisible to others is an odd challenge. but after i started going to the the gym i realized how good i felt after a workout, how much more calm i was, and just overall more energized and less drained. focusing on my food only was to get these benefits even more! everyone is different and everyone needs to do what is best for them! but this is my why, to feel better, never perfect, but always better. to realize no matter what the problem or issue i can change things. i can put in effort everyday to anything i want and achieve it! #fitness #discipline #disciplineovermotivation #dailyhabits #dailymovement #healthyhabits #fitgirls #fitwomen #girlswholift #liftlikeagirl #pumpandgrind #mindfulness #positivity #dailygratitude #armday #legday #backday #workouts #gymselfies #transformation #fitnesstransformation #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters

Sometimes you sacrifice getting glam’ed up for those extra 45 minutes of sleep before you go to the gym in the morning. but you still get that workout in. it’s called priorities. you’re defined by where you devote your time and energy and heart. as much as i like trying to look good, my mind is set on my long-term goals. short term pleasures whether it be my glam sesh, or that cupcake, muffin, french fries, isn’t worth it if it’s going to walk me backwards away from my goals. .

What a day! really frustrating day at work today...i'm so ready for a vacation! i need a break.
anyways, made it through work and home to workout. it was suppose to be leg day but plans changed a little when my training buddy had to take today off. so instead i did an #insanitymax30 #workout and then went and tested out the #treadmill
first time i've ran in probably almost a year!😳😳 let's just say i've got a ways to go till i'm back to where i was endurance and running wise! i sometimes still cant believe i ran a marathon and use to think 10 miles was just a quick short run when i was training 😂
my little love also came out and ran a little with me. she is my runner, i'm thinking this was def $20 well spent because she may end up using it more than i do!! lol
it was good though and i feel good!

i hope you watched the video before you started reading 😂 but if not oh well; it will make sense in a few... i came home from work because i forgot my gym bag. i had the option to pick up my bag or grab a different outfit and go. i chose the latter. while changing i had a majorrrrr reflective moment. something told me to pick up my phone and press record. 32 seconds + 2 mins to add a border here we are... no more dismissing. you can’t receive everything destined for you until you feel like you’re worthy. it starts with you. start there. 🙏🏽 _____________________________________________________________ .

Your mindset really affects your entire day.

there are days where we wake up and have a negative mindset. we struggle with our body image, stresses of life, instability, and just simply not feeling like ourselves. honestly, its normal to have those days. however, its important to not stay there!

in the morning, its important to start off with something positive!
read a devotion, journal, listen to positive music/podcast, or whatever works for you. do something that is going to ensure you are aiming to have a positive mindset. only you can decide how you are going to live for the day. trust me we know it’s not easy, it’s difficult! we have to tell ourselves everyday even multiple times a day, you are strong, you are worthy, you are powerful, you are successful, you are loved, you got this! we’re all humans who go through many ups and downs. we just can’t let the downs consume us. -
just remember don’t let the many stressors of life get you. focus each day on living your best life! you deserve it! you got this!

From the first race of the season to the last race of the season. 15 races, 2 trifectas, 8 states including a few we hit multiple times, 230+ hours of travel, overcame several injuries and battled asthma, experienced sheer exhaustion, somehow kept a social life and i did it. i didn’t hit the goals i set out with, but i finished the year. i faced really difficult health blocks and changes. some changes were really scary. i didn’t stop. i am grateful for the opportunities i had. for those who encouraged and assisted in making this season happen. i want to continue this. i want to fight for this. this is my life. never stop fighting. the years that go into your goals are worth every little step taken. thank you everyone. #love #happy #grateful #ocrathlete #athlete #athletewithasthma #strongwomen #fitwomen #womenwholift #ocr #ocrseason #medal #ocrseason2019 #abominablesnowrace #spartan

Life through diet and exercise has given me a second chance. life had just stopped for me when i fell ill and spent years trying to figure it out. systemic malfunction, head to toe, limited motor skills, riddled with infection. i walked away from the tests,from the prescriptions, from all of the appointments and specialist, just coming up empty handed.
i finally took control. i learned about god to spark my spirituality, i learned about the human body so i could identify its dysfunction and i consumed every bit of knowledge i could about what i was putting into or on my body. i changed my diet to healthier choices and started to eliminate things as my body told me to. i listening to my body, the one person i had not even been inquiring!!!! that was the start to my journey for life.
i ultimately became vegan and started to flourish on a whole foods plant based diet and here i am 3 years vegan. 🙌
when i finally got the diagnosis last year, turned out it is rocky mountain spotted fever and lyme disease.
it is amazing to think i went from being bed ridden to exceptionally able!
i do tend to push myself as i have learnedthat illness is an opponent that we must stay a step ahead of. i have never been this strong in my life, and though it still does knock me down,i always get back up 💪🏼
i want others to feel inspired to stand up for themselves and push through the opponent. you have more ability than you realize.
the total transformation is the long term goal, you just have to start anywhere. give up what you can, try something you haven't, do something for yourself and for the embetterment of those around you 💙

This amazing mother works out 8 times a week, but she can't seem to get rid of that mommy skin even with the near 10 pack she's got. she's gorgeous inside and out yet she's just looking for something that helps lift and tone. she lost a 1/2 inch in this session.

no 135lbs here today unfortunately. if only i had friends that love to lift and would spot me it would be easier for me to push more 🥺 but for now the weights are down until i have the confidence to ask someone on my own or do it on my own without dying.🤣
