Happpppy sunday 🤩 started my mini cut today wohhoooo! so ready to see what i’m capable of achieving - losing body f*t really isn’t rocket science. it all comes down to being in a calorie deficit (eating less calories than your burning) and having patience...shit. takes. time. there is no skinny tea, magic weight loss pill or ridiculous diet out there that is necessary no matter what the internet wants to tell ya. weight loss that’s maintainable will take a lot longer than you’d like but it’s possible👏🏻 i’m back to tracking macros (helps me make sure i’m actually eating in a calorie deficit), adding in some cardio & continue to crush my workouts 5x a week...bringing y’all along with me to keep me accountable! tell me whatcha wanna know?!👇🏻 and don’t be fooled, i’m about to pop these boots off and sit by b***y on the couch until the packer game💚💛 ready to crush this week xoxo

Don’t let post holiday food discourage you 🙅🏻‍♀️ -

after the holidays is a perfect time to get back on track don’t get me wrong, you’ll be back in your normal routine, with school, work, sleep, exercise etc. but that shouldn’t be an excuse to create a unhealthy relationship with your food intake and body image now. food guilt is a challenging and common feeling especially around this time of year. -

i’ll be the first to admit i’ve had at loft house sugar cookies, went out for some ice cream, had a piece of cake, apple pie, dark chocolate pretzels, ghirardelli squares, endless treats it seems like🎂🧁🥧🍪 - -

however... i don’t think of myself as any less of a person, i don’t restrict myself the following day after a treat, i don’t overload on cardio to try to compensate, and i don’t allow myself to create an unhealthy relationship with food. -

simple habits that help me stay somewhat on track while enjoying myself during this time of year, let alone my normal routine ..... -

1️⃣ staying active : if you’re going to be consuming slightly more calories that normal... put them to good use ~ muscle building. weight training will help your muscles grow, strength increase, and will allow you to eat more (more muscle mass = more you’re energy expenditure aka calories you’re body burns while even resting)🙌🏼 -

2️⃣ drink a lot of h20 #1 priority, but #2 has been drinking 1 carbonated 0 calorie drink (sparkling water, diet soda, etc) this helps me stay somewhat full or at least “help over” so i’m not starving and devouring everything in sight hah🙌🏼 -

3️⃣ reduce stress and increase sleep - reducing stress can aid in weight loss and just overall health in general. increasing sleep can actually help with gaining muscle. this is a dynamic duo🙌🏼 -

4️⃣ be happppy & keep working remember this is a lifestyle, not a 1-2 month “thing” sooo consistency is key is results mmmmkay🔑 -

Looking back on 2019 likeeeee ..... -

i can’t believe 2019 is over, i remember new years eve like it was just a couple months ago??! this year went by fast and was a major stepping stone time in my life. there were tons of experiences,
opportunities & lessons learned that i am so grateful for. -

what a year 🤟🏻
✅2 semesters down at sdsu
✅took on 3 new clients (for overall weight loss, body recomposition, & including @tanner_cortez prep for his first men’s physique show)
✅went to portland, vegas, utah for the first time
✅completed 1 financial planning internship
✅moved 1x
✅ new pr’s were hit including bench press, shoulder press, leg extension, pull ups, lat pull down, & hip thrusts
✅new partnerships, sponsorships, & collaborations were formed with numerous companies such as @fabletics @ryderwear , @questnutrition , @24hourfitness , @sentequsa , @clifbar , @gameofswoles , and @natureplusyou 💛

in terms of new goals i’ve set for myself for 2020
🔺 be more present in the moment
🔺 read 1 new book a month
🔺travel out of the country >1 time
🔺participate in >1 act of service/volunteer work a month
🔺lift 5x a week , 1x some other form of exercise like yoga, hike, group classes
🔺stop worrying about things out of my control and stopppp stresssing so much. everything will workout the way it shouldddd👌🏻 -

Hi fit baes! i’m back, better, and ready for the taken💪🏾 i leaned out a week ago using the caloric deficit technique and incorporating hiit cardio workouts into my routine and i have never felt better! i often struggle a lot with consistency in the gym and my diet...however, i have been more consistent lately and more determined than ever.
as i creep back into the full “lean bulk” of the winter, i’m excited to see the changes that my body will endure.
currently weigh 156 lbs (before i leaned, i was 160).
my goal is to just gain 6-8 lbs of healthy weight before spring 2020.
i feel like this year will be the year i reach my goals the way i want to.
no excuses or short cuts, just grind.
trust the process.

here’s a few clips from the beginning of my lower body workout. i always start with a warm-up on the treadmill or stairclimber for 5-10 min. followed by some foam rolling and dynamic warm-ups. i always make sure my glutes are activated before going into my workout🔥

i also have been starting all of my workouts with barbell hip thrusts because it’s a movement i want to work on. i’ve been using a hip circle to add extra resistance and my b***y is burninggg after 4 sets of these. i highly recommend adding some sort of hip t****t movement into your routine💫

hi everyone! from the poll i posted on my story, glute warm up won! 🥳 i always keep my warm up short so i can get into my life. activating your glutes is essential when growing them.💥 it basically wakes up the muscles, letting them know that they are going to get worked🙌🏼 for these warm ups i do 10 reps, 3 sets. i do one right after another and rest between sets.📌 these can be done without bands but they add a little extra burn 🔥i sped up this video, but make sure you watch all of it so you can see each warmup! save this✔️ and tag your friends who need warm up ideas😎

Today is my rest day!!! favorite day of the week!!! my day consists of active recovery and lots of stretching!🧘🏽‍♀️

i got in the pool this morning for aqua fit hoping it would be a good active recovery....boy was i wrong to kicked my b**t and then some!! i actually missing getting in the pool and teaching.

next up i did bodyflow, which is mixture of yoga, tai chi, and pilates. i never have enough good things to say about this! i love this program and how i feel afterwards! i did two different flows today, i did a hour class and then a 15 minute deep stretching class! it was wonderful!!!

after two years of partying in college, and two years of newlywed date nights filled with the best treats ever, i started to be uncomfortable in my own skin. 🥡⁣⁣⁣

then, i just started walking. i didn’t realize how much my body craved that movement. it felt incredible to get off my couch for a change. ⁣⁣⁣

Procrastinating per usual🤷🏻‍♀️ (well kinda) ya know when you get back home from being out of town for almost a month it can be somewhat overwhelming. bags to unpack, food to buy and prepare, along with other items on the to-do list like paying car registration, apply to graduate, get books and supplies for the coming semester, packages to pick up, oh and can’t forget laundry.

i’m telling myself i’m going to get it all done this weekend, so that it’s spread out and doesn’t seem so overwhelming. i’ll get to, maybe not right this second but it will get done. something that’s been on my mind lately and that i’ve been working on lately is stopp stressssing (big breath in, big breath out righttt) but seriously some problems, inconveniences, situations seem bigger in the moment than they actually are. (i’m not talking about my long list to do’s as a huge problem but just a thought that can apply in all aspects of life) there are many instances when i look back at situations and think to myself ok it wasn’t as bad as it seemed, or that made me better off👌🏻 -

Full body day!! don’t forget to like / comment / save❤️ this workout was pretty intense & i loved every minute of it. if you can’t workout everyday full body workouts are a great way to hit every muscle. ⭐️workout-
bulgarian split squats & underhand row
spider curls & tricep kickbacks
rear delt fly & chest press
cable dl & duck walks
instead of some liss cardio i finished up a 10 minute hiit circuit, if anyone wants some ideas about hiit circuits comment below and i can film some.

Let’s talk about weights! how do you know what size weights you should be using?

going too light isn’t going to challenge your muscles enough to see growth, but going too heavy is a big no no too - you absolutely want to avoid the risk of hurting yourself or sacrificing form for weight.
⠀⠀
you want to pick a weight that allows you to maintain proper form, but the last 1-2 reps should be really dang hard! also realize that different moves will require different weight. you can’t expect to use the same weights for shoulder presses as you would for skullcrushers 💀 ⠀⠀
another tip is to try to avoid comparing your weights to what someone else is using. i used to do this 😞 your only competition should be who you were yesterday!

in my home gym i have a variety of weights ranging from 3lbs up to 30lbs, and that’s worked really well so far! happy lifting 🙂

⭕ if someone asked you this question, i'm sure most of you would say "of course i do!"... however, do you really?⁣

⭕ muscle grows from progressive overload, so if we are not challenging ourselves harder with each workout/each week of a body part, then there is no reason for our muscles to grow (swipe left). ⁣

⭕ overload doesn't just need to be exercise weight increases but can be achieved by doing more reps, more sets and/or shorter rest periods.⁣

⭕ so if you aren't making the progress you'd like, really look at how you train and ask "am i really giving it my all each time?"🤔 only those that are real with themselves make true progress 🏋️‍♂️🏋️‍♀️⁣

Wie lange soll man an seinem trainingsplan festhalten??
die kunst ist, den plan so lange zu behalten wie er noch funktioniert. aber ihr werdet schnell merken: was zu beginn vielleicht gut funktioniert hat, wird mit der zeit stagnieren (zumindest kommt es einem so vor als würde man nicht mehr voran kommen). das gilt sowohl für ausdauer- als auch für krafteinheiten. mit der zeit gewöhnt sich der körper an die belastung, er steigert sich nicht mehr.
anpassungseffekt.
was tun wenn er nun eintritt??
ganz easy leute, ihr könnt das problem umschiffen, indem ihr einfach euren trainingsplan etwa alle 8 wochen umstellt. dabei müsst ihr nicht gleich alles verändern – es reicht schon, wenn ihr hantelübungen mit einem anderen griff ausübt (zum beispiel weiter zugreifen oder über- statt untergriff), die wiederholungszahl oder geschwindigkeit anpasst.
das heißt der mythos, 3 monate für einen trainingsplan ist nur wirklich effektiv, wenn du mit deinen übungen wächst: steigere das gewicht, griffe verändern und immer an der technik weiter feilen.😉✌🏾
