ich kann es noch immer nicht glauben. 10 monate diät hinter mir und immer 110% gegeben. es macht sich bezahlt. ca 18kg insgesamt verloren und es war kein geschenkter weg. 1 monat davon durchgehend körperliche “wehwehchen” gehabt und trotzdem immer durchgezogen. von krämpfen, rückenschmerzen, migräneanfällen, nerveinklemmungen, muskelverspannung, hormonproblemen bis hin zu einer verkühlung alles durch in 1 monat. andere hätten vielleicht aufgegeben aber ich hatte ein ziel - komme was wolle. nichtsdestotrotz hätte ich nie mit den den 1. platz gerechnet bei meinen 1 wettkampf wochenende. ich kann es noch immer nicht fassen 🙈🥇🥰

For the 3 people that asked, and the rest of you that like to watch suffering - here is the last 15 min of 20.2. for whatever reason, i was putting the pressure on myself to perform on this one. even though i am 100% doing these workouts for fun, the competitor in me likes to creep in there and turn things into a bigger deal than they are. so today i told myself that i am enough. no matter what my fitness is right now. and i am doing this for fun. so i can just relax and do just that. i know for some of you that seems like such a no brainer. but for those of you that can relate - i want you to remember the same. your fitness never defines you. never let what you think to be a “lack of fitness” hold you back from challenging yourself to become a better version of yourself. that applies to someone at the crossfit games as much as it does someone showing up to a gym for the very first time. you don’t get better unless you can set your pride aside and show up. not tomorrow, or next month, or “when you feel ready”, but today. show up for yourself - no one else, and go get it. 👊🏽

Try using a trx (or similar suspension training system) to work the back of your shoulders (rear deltoids) from a variety of angles!

key points for success:
🔑keep your elbows straight.
🔑pull with the back of your shoulders.
🔑it's not a big movement and your rear delts are small so this can be really challenge.
🔑keep tension in the straps - no jerking yourself up or dropping back to the starting position.
🔑reach your arms long and avoid shrugging your shoulders or smashing your shoulder blades together.

Hundreds of sit-ups wont give you flat abs after having a baby.⠀

why?⠀

whilst exercises such as sit-ups, plank holds, mountain climbers, crunches and v-sits activate and tone the r****s abdominals (six-pack muscles), they won’t flatten it. in fact, it can have the opposite effect and cause a domed appearance or p*t belly. these exercises can also put pressure on an already weakened pelvic floor, which is extremely common after pregnancy and childbirth.⠀

so how can you get flatter abs after having children? my advice is...⠀
1) focus on strength and functioning first and foremost over appearance.⠀
2) strengthen the weakest link, most often the pelvic floor. if your abs are strong but you have pelvic floor weakness you won’t be using your core effectively. strengthen your core from the inside out.⠀
3) learn how to maintain good intra abdominal pressure by going to specialist mums’ fitness classes (like strong mums! 😉)⠀
4) book an appointment with a women’s health physio⠀

I finally got one!
i've eaten a lot of fast food chicken sandwiches! almost always the spicy option so that's what i got at popeye's. here's my breakdown for those of you who still haven't tried it.

bottom line. this is definitely the best tasting option out there. *it's really big *that's a real chicken b****t in there *the coating stayed crispy unlike its top competitors. i hate soggy breading! *nice flavorful spice. *the nutrition sucks! interesting that popeye's doesn't want to publish their numbers, but not surprising. at 690 calories, 42g fat, and 28g protein, there is nothing remotely healthy about this sandwich! i was killing it yesterday! if you swipe, the photo labeled today is the one i took before dinner. the one labeled yesterday is the final for my day. the only change was the sandwich. thanks popeye's for ruining my good efforts. 😕

will i eat it again? honestly, probably not. it would definitely be a rarity for me. it's delicious, but not worth all that.

Full class tonight!🙌🏻

this silly little footlock climb took me longer than i'd care to admit to figure out 😅😆 hence the victory smile at the end 😁

as always, managing tension is everything in aerial! and that aspect was deceptively difficult with this climb.

but isn't that a beautifully frustrating parallel for life? so often it's mastery of the little things that proves most challenging 🤔

on a more technical note, i like to use fabric with almost no stretch, but i think this would definitely be easier in a medium stretch fabric 👌🏻

Today, i missed my drippy bathtub faucet.  to be honest, it’s not just today. almost every time i walk into the bathroom i miss it.  it’s silly right? thing is, it’s been slowly dripping for a couple of years. however, until it started flowing a stream of hot water, i didn’t get it fixed.

so why am i telling you this?  because it makes me think.

so often we live with things that aren’t necessarily good. maybe, they’re even bad for us.  we know it. but we rationalize our way out of doing something about it. we say things like “it’s not really that bad.”, “i can live with it”, or “i don’t know what to do about it.”. then one day, hopefully, there’s a change. it may be in the circumstance or situation. it may be in us. maybe it gets worse. maybe we grow tired of it, or maybe we grow bolder and more confident.  no matter what the cause, we will hopefully come to a point of change. at that point, we do what we have to do. we make the changes we need to make and we start moving in a new direction. done right?  no.

those are all good.  but, we have a tendency to go back.  sometimes over and over. we miss that thing.  not because it was good, but because we had become comfortable with it.  maybe we enjoyed it a little…or a lot. we struggle with the change even though it’s good, because the old was just so familiar.  we were comfortable with our discomfort.

it’s an age old problem.  proverbs 26: 11 says, “like a dog that returns to its v***t is a fool who repeats his folly.” think it’s not a problem?  google ‘letting go’. but what do we do about it?

49 days ago i started the challenge to complete 4 sets 10 reps of wide grip pull ups today i managed 4 sets of 4/5 reps and only practicing a couple of times a week for the last 8 weeks.

the first few weeks i began by performing 4 sets of 5 reps of negatives (eccentric phase), this is where you jump up and lower yourself smoothly lengthening the muscle then repeat until the target reps are completed.

the idea behind it is you transfer the eccentric phase to the concentric phase of the lift building the strength to perform the move.

eccentric training, that involves the slow controlled lengthening of the muscle is a great way to relearn an exercise that you may have previously been performing poorly or to start building strength for a new movement.

the last few weeks i’ve been attempting to just go for it and see how many i can knock out in one go, today is the most i’ve done!

37 days of the challenge left so all i have to do is double my reps..... easy, maybe, maybe not.

It's small thing saturday!

a few of the things that made me smile this week... 1. sweet memories

2. tulips, just because he loves me ❤️🌷 3. my silly yena. she loves to gather our items around her when i'm gone. it's always different, but on this particular day i came back to find her surrounded by her bones and balls, some chipotle ms dash, and quite interestingly, it appears that she's considering taking up vaping as well.

4. honey. every day. always raw and local. love the au mug too! one of the first gifts my step son ever gave to me.

5. geraniums. the freeze got them, but they made me smile every day when i stepped up onto our porch... all the way up to the day of their demise. they are short-lived, but they sure bring me a lot of joy while they are here.

i also tried for waaay too long to find a way to share a song with you. this morning as i heard it play, it made me smile from the inside, out. if you have a couple of minutes look it up. i wish you love by keely smith.

unfortunately, trying to share it with you brought me absolutely no smiles! ugh! technology and i have quite a love / hate relationship!

anyone willing to share tips on getting music from you tube to ig would really make me smile! 😁😁😁

Today's soup is broccoli cheese.

i'm not a huge fan of broccoli cheese soup typically. but i am a huge fan of my homemade version. the traditional version usually reminds me of velveta soup with a few bits of broccoli floating in it. mine is like broccoli soup with cheese. each one cup serving contains the equivalent to nearly a full cup of raw broccoli! it's a little higher in f*t than i like, but so worth it. combined with a toasted open face sandwich is my comfort food in this cool rainy weather.

The heart is the most important muscle in the body if we don’t use it, it loses weakness just like the other muscles in the body, but its not just cardiovascular exercise that works it, but strength training too!

the heart consists of cardiac muscle, it's said to be the hardest working muscle in the body. the average adult heart beats 72 times a minute; 100,000 times a day; 3,600,000 times a year; and 2.5 billion times during a 70-year span. this is a great example of dynamic strength as well as strength endurance the cardio part.

with this in mind when you approach fitness and exercise you should really do your research and get your geek on, it’s your body and you are in control of it and the health of you, so by looking into all the exercises of all the muscle groups including the heart you should aim to work each equally.
