Now i understand the capabilities that i have felt in my heart... this loyalty and maternal love and protection that i have longed to share. experiencing selflessness beyond what my spiritual practice could have ever taught me. mother, i became one the moment we conceived and now, letting go of the girl that i have been learning to love my whole life.
in this cerimonial space i wonder if i loved her enough now that i know im saying goodbye. the parts of her i may never embody again, were they embraced, loved, accepted and safe? the truth is, not always. this time has felt as much about making space for my baby girl, as i have been equally saying goodbye to my own. making way for the woman i have become and the mother i meant to be!

why do you train? do you think there’s a difference between training for movement and working out? .

to me, physically training means to train the way you want to move or feel, to have a mental connection to your body so that you can use it in your every day life, whether you are a stay at home mom or dad (aka ninja 🦸🏻‍♀️🦸🏾) pro athlete or just athlete, work in an office, actor in a film or commercial or maybe just to look good and be healthy 🙌🏼 .

i wanted to remind you, that big changes take time. so many beautiful men and women get this operation and want to hit goals instantly. trust me, you’ll get instant results but remember to be patient. for some of us it took 1, 2, 5 or even 10 years to put all the weight on, so give your body the time it needs to drop it too. •

just because i look this way 9months post op, it doesn’t mean you will too. you could be smaller, more toned by month 9, but you could also be curvier, have more loose skin by month 9. it doesn’t make you worse than, it doesn’t mean your tummy isn’t working the way it should be. •

keep trucking on, keep pushing hard, keep eating right and stay active. don’t compare yourself or your progress to anyone’s else’s. don’t compare your #vsgjourney to someone else’s #vsgjourney

I wanted to do the #dollyparton challenge because...
😍
1.) i thought it would be fun to share and i’m bored. just kidding- i don’t ever get bored. (not my nature.)
2.) i have no “new” or rather i should say “super exciting” content to post because i’ve been in a major social media sharing rut.
3.) ok. i admit it. i really just finally gained the courage (like a year later) to share the picture in the bottom right hand corner.

i am posting it now however, because i realize that looking back, i am proud of what my “close to 40 year old”, three children later” body, with a “slowed down metabolism” was able to accomplish with discipline, hard work, and dedication over an extended period of time.

achieving a fitness goal for me is always more about the mental transformation than the physical— and i remember how mentally strong i was when i took the picture.
💪🏼
i am hopeful that by revisiting the picture- it will be my motivation and inspiration to clean up my diet, because the “fries before guys” mentality is not serving me well in any area of my life.
😂
for over the 2.5 years i have showed up to sweat. what hasn’t been consistent over that time period is my diet, which is why my body no longer looks like the picture. ha! i love to eat— all the foods. when the bottom right picture was taken, i was eating an 80/20 diet that did not consist of fries every other day. as i write this post, i don’t feel as well mentally having so many cheat meals and treats- so i’m attempting once again to become a (little) more focused.

i am still working out atleast 5/7 days in a week, however i’ve had to cut weight training because i have a shoulder injury.
since my injury, i have confirmation that weight training is the key to success after age 30, in addition to cardio and eating well.

i will find out this week if i need surgery for my shoulder- and am anxious to recover so i can get back to weight training sooner than later.
🏋🏻‍♀️
i am posting this as a reminder to not only myself- but to you as well— to never doubt what you can achieve at any age, in any area of your life, with consistency, discipline, hard work and a desire to succeed.

Day 27 🦈 | today i completed a quick 1 km run and a full body weight session followed by a nice slow walk around the botanic gardens with my tribe. i'm not going to lie, i did struggle with my run and work out after being unwell for the last 2 weeks. my routine has been knocked all out of whack and it's been bringing me down just a bit. i'm going to be kind to myself and let my body recover at its own pace and focus on my mental health.

💥𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬!💥 ladies, let’s get real: lifting heavier weights without a spotter can be nerve-wracking. however, let’s chat how you can achieve awesome form so you can lift heavier with ease, grace, + flow. dumbbell bench press is a great exercise to work on your overall bench press ability! muscle imbalances are inevitable for almost all of us; we are going to be dominant on one side of the body whether we’re a right or left hander. with a barbell, you can mask these imbalances by overcompensating with your strong side to make up for the other. we see it all the time with lifters who push one side of the bar up faster than the other. when your limbs are forced to work on their own it becomes a lot harder to mask these imbalances + forces you to work on correcting it. db bench press is great for identifying imbalances in your deltoids (shoulders) pectorals (chest), and trapezius (muscle located between the neck and the shoulder), and forces you to maintain a smooth, symmetrical lowering and pressing.

muscle activation is super important when it comes to bench; while chest activation is still the same for db benchpress as it is with bb bench, your core gets an amazing workout while doing bench! 💪🏼 let’s say you decide to do one arm press at a time, if you don’t engage your core…you will legit roll straight off the bench! 😅 holding a weight only in one arm tests your anti-rotational strength while working on perfecting your muscle imbalances. don’t be mistaken, doing dual db bench is just as effective for working your core! #shreddingforsummer side note: if you have - or have had - shoulder issues in the past, dbs allow for a more natural grip and will give your wrists + elbows the freedom and flexibility of movement that isn’t possible with a barbell. 
best part is - you don’t *need* a spotter! yes, spotters are great for extra support and motivation but once your muscles tap out, you can fail relatively safely by dropping the weights 🙌🏼 for those of you who love to push yourself to the point of failure but don’t always have a spotter available, dumbbell bench press is where it’s at! 😘

today’s tropical inspired lunch is a banana and mango smoothie bowl 🥭 topped with delicious seasonal fruit, passion fruit and mango, with coconut, chia seeds, coconut yoghurt and sugar free granola 😋 trust me you will want to try this one ☝🏼 .

ingredients
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen mango
1 scoop @happywayau banana protein
1/2 cup ice
250ml almond milk.

Beautiful run this morning at my local mountain 🥰

im not a fan of road running but there is something i find really special about trail running.

it may be the peace and quiet, the changes in the terrain or just being surrounded by nature..... i love it.💜 i'm really lucky to have so many trails within a short distance from home.

of course there are plenty of hills, lots of stairs and plenty more hills so it certainly isn't easy but i do feel that i've accomplished something...and its all good for nepal training🥰

What have i learned for the last 3 years in my fitness journey to be successful in my pursuits: -

habit....!!! yes people you create a habit and your habit will be a habit!! get it ? .

now i don’t need an alarm! my body is so used to waking up before 5 and i’m up usually between 4.30-4.45am and start hustling at the gym before the c***k of dawn 💪🏽

.
i eat once a day that my body is not hungry till about 4-5pm. i’m not a #keto n**i so much these days that i include rice and resistance starch like sweet potato 🍽
.
.
i make sure i get 7-8hours of sleep that my body is sleepy by 9pm-9.30pm 😴
.
humans are creatures of habit! find what works for you and stick with it..! the equation to healthy life is exercise, nutrition and sleep... it’s not complicated but we make them so complicated that these days people need to have tons of app to keep them on track 🤦🏻‍♀️ just listen to your body and give it what it needs 💃🏻

Emotion = energy in motion!
right?! if you’re anything like me, you’ll actually need to have to physical experience (ie the motion part) to move the emotion through your body, and let that s**t go. who else?
the start of this year has been disruptive, to put it lightly. we’ve lost half of our house, and a tonne of contents. whilst i do my best to remain unattached to ‘stuff/things,’ it’s the disruption and subsequent stress/overwhelm that comes with the clean up/repair etc. couldn’t happen at a worse time (i mean there’s never a good time for your house to get flooded with sewerage right?). until 7pm saturday night, i hadn’t even looked at the school booklists. cheers to officeworks for running a late night show - i saw a few other hot mess parents in there. i wanted to high five them all. like ‘helloooo my people!’ i don’t currently know where the uniforms are, if the school shoes fit, or if we can even find 2 socks for each kid (screw the pair, i let go of that s**t years ago). i don’t think i’ve ever felt more under the pump than i have these last few weeks! cue 🤯🤯🤯
anyway, my point is, get moving. cause when you’re moving, you’re wriggling all that stuff out. literally! energy in motion - emotion.
has the power to change your thoughts... your thoughts become your feelings become your actions right?
i was lucky enough to sneak out for a run today 🙏🏽 but if that’s not your jam, put on some killer tunes and throw a dance partay for yourself! walk up a mountain. whatever! do you 👊🏼
especially if you’re a mama starting a new chapter tomorrow, sending your little ones off to school/kindy etc for the first time, prioritise some movement in tour day. it can be so unnerving! your little people need you calm, centred, present, as do you 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Ce matin après mon rendez-vous chez le stomatologue qui ne m’a pas vmt avancé niveau de ma mâchoire 🙄 (en gros rien de grave mais une faiblesse qui sera tjs làdonc à part faire en sorte d’éviter ce qui peut accentuer là douleurs et continuer mes produits modere qui me soulage sinon on sait rien faire 🤷🏽‍♀️😬) sinon bin après ça c’était séance pecs 🏋🏽‍♀️#chestday j’essaie de caser mes séances de sport tant bien que mal à la salle d’en faire au moins deux/trois fois semaine et en plus je vais me caser un peu de cardio les jours où je vais pas à la salle car il est temps de booster tout et d’y ajouter ma nouvelle petite cure bts 🥰

i did this low impact workout to warm up for my weights workout in my garage this morning. my husband has monday’s off - yes lucky me - so usually he plays daddy day care for most of the day so i can get in a longer workout than during the week and get out of the house to do some work. .

so this is a low impact cardio / beginners workout that can also be used as a warm up to a high impact workout or a weights workout. .

do each exercise for 30 seconds with 10 sec rest (or none) between and do 3 rounds total.

315lbs squats...
noooooo i'm not crying 😭😭😭 maybe a little..🤪😭🌊it's nice seeing 6 red plates..😍 especially in squats.. after complaining so much on of knee pain and going down on weights, this makes me happy😭 dont know how these prs keeps popping left and right especially when i'm so tired from work. so, proud of myself and i just need to stop doubting in myself. i wasnt going to try 315 at all, but i was like f**k it. if i squat it good , if i dont then s**t i hope my knee dont hurt tomorrow lol...anyway i'm done. believe in yourself and maybe the force will be with you🤪
