there is no failure except in no longer trying. never never never give up 💕 i constantly have to remind myself how far i’ve come with my journey. and as i get closer and closer to the 1 year mark post gastric sleeve surgery,

i think about how different my life would be right now had i not made the decision to choose this path. i remember being so scared of sharing this journey and having hesitations for fear that i would be judged but i had to let go of those and allow myself to make my own decisions rather than let myself be influenced by the judgement of others.

i knew that it would was beneficial for my future health and happiness and i worked incredibly hard to ensure its success. had i not, i wouldn’t be where i am today. .

it’s crazy looking at these pics! it’s honestly shocking to me to see the change i’ve made. i’ve been big all my childhood...for half of my life i’ve been morbidly obese. i use to daydream about how i’d look if i were smaller. i would wonder what my shape was underneath my size 30 body; and i’m sorry if i come off real conceited but, i’m blessed y’all 😂🙌🏼 i love my shape! i love my curves, my thighs, my big butt! thank you lord for blessing me and giving me the strength and determination to fight for my life because i was surely not going to last long!

I love me some chuck roast. it is a fattier cut with tons of flavor. and there is nothing better than cooking it in the oven covered in foil. .

i do like slow cookers for convenience, but it strips some of the flavor and dries it out a bit.

because of the unpredictability of lunch today, i made today a regular carb day and will do low carb tomorrow and wednesday. got an amazing workout done. didn't want to, but glad i did. killed it today!!!

8 habits of fit people:
everyone wants to get fit, strong, lean and healthy but few want to develop the habits to do so. people are so much more focused on the shortcuts and the keto and the intermittent fasting and the magic pills or waist trainers or whatever that are supposedly supposed to make you lose 100lbs over night and transform your body in a blink of an eye. the truth is, those results come from habits and lifestyle, not from any one special thing. habits like meal prepping, keeping a food and training log and making anecdotal notes, getting more active throughout the day, always parking far away from the front door of the building, and strength training all lead to the body you want. patience is another big variable and it is habitual. also, fit people don't make excuses. they make progress.

Being raised to have high expectations was hard growing up. being praised for something i thought i should’ve done better at was hard to accept. all the while, this lead me to want to be perfect because i thought it was the only way to be successful. i never took the time to be who i really am. when i couldn’t lift 145 lbs tonight, i thought, “why am i so h*****n myself? why can’t i just accept who i am and where i’m at now?” i finally found the answer: i always thought i was inferior to everybody else and i wanted to catch up so i wouldn’t be left behind. i love myself enough now where i can finally admit that to me and to others. i don’t hide what i’m feeling because i’m sure there’s someone else out there that feels the same way. it’s a great feeling to finally know the answer to your problems, now to work on the solutions. all part of the brave change. .

Just stay in a calorie deficit...just get enough exercise every day...just control your emotional eating...we’ve all heard it right? so we all know what we are supposed to do...the problem is that we don’t know how to stick to those new habits... so here i’ve got 5 simple tips that will help you stay consistent on your weight loss journey 😌

1. always get back on track after you slip up! remember that we value consistency over perfection! so please please don’t let that one cookie lead you into a week long binge and ruin your hard earned progress 🙏 did you slip? that’s ok! get up, get over it and move on! 😌

2. remember we spoke about setting realistic plans? sooo a lot of people fail to do so and find themselves not achieving what they’ve planned...if you are working hard and still not seeing the results you were hoping for...it’s not the reason to give up! it’s the reason to review your goals and adjust your plans! are your goals actually realistic??

3. give 👏yourself👏time👏 you cannot lose weight in one week if you were gaining it over the last year! and you cannot build new healthy habits in one month if you were living with different behaviors your whole life! that’s ok if you slip, that’s ok if it takes time, allow yourself to grow slowly and focus on the progress not perfection 😌
.
4. the fastest way to ruin your consistency is to work too hard without taking any breaks...oh but you thought that consistency means hard work??? nope, hard work means burnout, and burnout means zero consistency 👌 you have to give yourself time to rest, to recharge and then get back on track! you need energy to keep yourself productive and lack of breaks will only burn you out 😕

5. consistency and motivation come hand in had and depend on each other...the more motivated you are the higher chance you will be consistent 👌 but the problem is that motivation doesn’t last long...so you have to constantly recharge your motivation: remind yourself of your why, consume motivational content, hang out with people who motivate and inspire you!

💥my 5 secrets to finally getting rid of the weight you want! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. what gets measured gets managed. you have to control your portions. if you don't know how much you're eating each day you're seriously going to struggle. tracking the food you eat may sound tedious but it is the only reliable, consistent way to do this.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. pounding the pavement will burn some calories but this is short term thinking. to increase the intensity of a run and burn more calories you have to run faster or longer which can quickly mean you reach your limit. strength training is much more long term approach... and arguably more enjoyable too.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. if you're stuck at a certain weight or body f*t level i can promise you right now that it isn't another supplement that you need. a supplement is just that, a supplement to your diet and lifestyle if you find yourself lacking. it is not the main reason why you lose weight... no matter what the adverts tell you. don't waste your money on any more supplements before you get your diet and exercise inline.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. cutting all chocolate, carbs, donuts, fats, meats, *insert name of next fad diet here* will not work. sure you'll lose weight in the short term as you're cutting a lot of calories but are you going to continue that way for life? if the answers no, and who wants to never eat pizza again?! then that is not the diet for you. instead take an approach that allows you to enjoy what you want in moderation and you're more likely to stick to it.

5. quit making excuses! excuses are constantly moving you further away from your goals. things are always going to be difficult. s**t will happen. events will come up but you can do this.

telescope / long term goals helps you point your ship in the right direction and could be something that you want to achieve in 6-12 months eg lose 10-20kg, compete in a strength competition

On tuesdays we transform ✌🏻
mal wieder ein kleines update von mir☺️ meine medizin schlägt gut an, ich hab kaum schmerzen und das unangenehme gefühl im arm wird glaub ich etwas weniger👌🏻arm wird weiterhin absolut geschont weswegen essensposts hier so rar geworden sind (kochen ist weiterhin selten). diese woche habe ich mir mal einen essensplan und einkaufsplan erstellt und schau mal wie das so klappt 👌🏻
was das gewicht angeht... ich erinnere mich nicht was mein niedrigstes gewicht bisher war🙈🙈 hier auf instagram hab ich 99,7 dokumentiert, bei fitbit muss ich noch schauen, in meiner kalorienapp war es noch 102 🙈 wenn ich nicht irgendwo was vergessen habe dann habe ich gestern mit 99,1 meinen neuen persönlichen rekord erreicht😁 (man sollte eigentlich meinen dass ich mir sowas merken kann 😅🙈)
damit sind fast 41kg weg💪🏻
die situation ist zwar alles andere als ideal und ich bin zurzeit alles andere als perfekt, aber dass es trotzdem kleine fortschritte gibt zeigt wieder dass nicht aufgeben und einfach das beste geben resultate bringt ✌🏻

Yummy chicken avocado pizza 🥑🍕 full recipe below, send it to a friend who’d love this!⁣

ingredients (for 8 servings)
garlic sauce
½ cup olive oil (120 ml)
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon chili flakes
pizza
1 crust pizza crust
2 packets fresh mozzarella cheese
2 cups chicken b****t (280 g), cooked, cut into slices
½ cup onion (75 g), diced
3 avocados
7 grape tomatoes
oil spray

preparation
in a small/medium jar, mix olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, oregano, and chili flakes together.
shake it well, and save it in refrigerator for later.
note: refrigerate left over garlic sauce. it lasts for up to one week
pre-heat the oven at 425ºf (220ºc).
oil spray the flat baking pan, roll out the pre-made pizza crust, if it’s needed, use a rolling pan to make the crust equally flat on the pan.
spread garlic sauce on pizza crust, place down sliced fresh mozzarella, sliced chicken b*****s (cooked) and sprinkle diced onions.
bake it in the oven for 25-30 minutes until the cheese melts and the crust become golden brown.
take the pizza out and place down sliced avocados, and some grape tomatoes.
enjoy!

👋 if you plan on picking a place to eat when you're out, asian spots in my opinion are the best.

maybe i'm a bit bias since i'm asian, but i just feel that you will find an easier time staying on track... or not over eating in calories.

most asian restaurants... will have simple rice dishes with protein and vegetables.

i'm not talking about take out here... because that doesn't count lol.
-
not that american restaurants don't do this... but it is definitely harder to find and less flexible.
-
most dishes you order don't have vegetables. you would have to order a side of salad.
-
also, options such as burger, steak, and fries with drinks will run you high in calories.
-
definitely still possible to stay on track, regardless of the place you decide to go to.
-
at the end of the day you can over eat in anything.

but here are some options i tend to pick if i was something in moderate calories that is still tasty from outside.

Choosing the right exercises for you -

this a tricky subject as i like to assess all my clients on how they move before i prescribe an exercise. -

the thing with instagram right now is the carousel workouts where influencers are uploading workouts for people to follow which can cause potential harm. -

just because billy big b******s is doing a overhead squat doesn’t mean you can or need to. -

here is an example of my client hugo executing a very good barbell back squat, an exercise that i have never got on with. -

he is on that exercise because he can execute it very well, get the benefits out of it and he enjoys it. -

if you hate a movement because it hurts or is uncomfortable then maybe it isn’t the right movement for you.

Day 48: my workout was amazing today. i really did my all. my food was okay. breaked my fast with a disgusting smoothie that i forced myself to drink, then i had some greek yoghurt and for dinner i ate oatmeal with raspberries and milk.

A big part of what i’ve been working on is learning to celebrate my accomplishments, even if they may seem small compared to what others do. my accomplishments are my own and i am proud.
yesterday at the gym i did 3 miles on the elliptical machine and then did two yoga classes.
less than 3 years ago this would not have been possible.
at that time i was suffering from multiple symptoms related to hormone imbalances, poor gut health, and major thyroid issues( i had mine removed 5 years ago and it has caused a lot of problems). doctors kept telling me i was “fine” because my lab numbers were “within range”
when i said my heart would race for no reason and i was often dizzy if i stood up quickly they wanted to prescribe me blood pressure meds.
when i said i was losing clumps of hair they just said it was stress and wanted to prescribe more medication.
when i said i was suffering from migraines they wanted to prescribe more medications.
when i asked about other options for thyroid hormone replacement that were more natural with less fillers i was told those didn’t work.
overall i was a mess, my weight would drop drastically and then would jump up and i was puffy and bloated and had pain in my joints. as the doctors continued to say i was fine because my blood work said so.
finally i said enough was enough!
i had to advocate for myself!
i researched and researched how food and nutrition would impact my body and what i would need. i studied nutrition specifically for hormone balancing and autoimmune issues.
and i found a doctor that treated me and not just numbers on a report.
so, completing three miles on the elliptical and not having my heart rate skyrocket, being able to finish 2 yoga classes and not get dizzy or have a migraine is huge for me.
by taking control of my health, i got my life back
i still have some days of joint pain and migraines but they are much less often.
i am able to be a better mom by being present and not in bed
i’m a better partner because i have more positivity.
and i have more confidence in myself because i know the choices are mine to make.

I had a chat with a client the other day. ⁣

he fell off the wagon. ⁣
⁣
after a very successful few week he had one bad day on the diet. ⁣
⁣
heres is the mindset a lot of us have once she fall of the wagon as it where. ⁣
⁣
“ive ruined my diet, no point now”⁣
⁣
why is this mindset a mistake?⁣
⁣
it lead you to completely falling of course, feeling down, even feeling depressed. ⁣
⁣
whats the solution… simple really. ⁣
⁣
dont jump on the band wagon in the first place. ⁣
⁣
eat foods you enjoy with in reason. ⁣
⁣
accept that you are human. ⁣
⁣
look at the bigger picture of what you have achieved so far.

Obesity is not a sign of laziness. most of the overweight nurses i know are compassionate workaholics — it's their work-life balance that's the problem. 💉🌡🏩

we blame pizza, chocolates & lack of time (amongst other things) for being out of shape, but often we need to take a look in the mirror and see who’s really responsible.⁣

it sounds harsh but you actually gain power by doing this. ⁣
⁣
fat loss starts with taking an honest look at yourself & realising your current habits have got you to where you are now. ⁣
⁣
remember no one thing has power of you, it’s your decisions, the food doesn’t control you! you put it in your mouth & make that decision. ⁣

- 2 years ago, i came to disneyland weighing almost 300 pounds! i limped around the park while my ankles continued to swell up and after hardly being able to walk, my mom went and asked the costumer service for an electric wheelchair, which was humiliating being a 23 year old in an electric wheelchair 😩 as if that weren’t enough, after waiting over an hour to go on some rides, i came to find out i didn’t even fit on the ride, and multiple employees attempted to push the bar down on me, but it wouldn’t budge... so in front of everyone, i had to get off and let me family know i’ll meet them by the exit 💔 i swear in that moment disneyland had never been so silent! 🦗🦗 needless to say, i had not been back until today!!✨ every moment has been magical, i fit on every ride with room to spare, no limping, and i don’t have to turn sideways to fit through the turnstiles! (the metal gates at the entrances of most rides!) it’s been an amazing day getting my disneyland redemption ğŸ‘ğŸ¼ğŸ‘ğŸ¼ğŸ­ğŸ°ğŸŽ¢ğŸ’– amazing #transformation from @wokeuplikedez - .

I saw this style of comparison photo and thought it was cool. i actually have a neck now! when i was at my highest (715 pounds) i thought it was impossible to lose this much weight. but now i know i’ll make it to my goal. i don’t have a number yet for my goal weight because i do better with smaller goals as it doesn’t seem so overwhelming. i have lost 360 pounds and my next goal is to be 315 pounds (currently 354). that will be 400 pounds lost!! when i say the numbers it still seems unbelievable. no matter where you are now you can choose to make the changes needed to get healthy. you are in control of your health and if you want it bad enough you will be successful.

#fitnessmotivation 🌟my 5 month transformation🌟 - so happy with the results of my bulk!! i gained a total of 22 lbs (9 kg) in 9/10 months and that made me really happy as i loved getting more curvy☺️ started my cut 5 months ago, and after cutting down it is also very exciting to discover how much muscle i have actually gained during my bulk!💪

the benefits of bulking are that you can eat lots of food 🍩 and you make really good progress in the gym🏋️‍♀️ the only downside is that you see less and less muscle in the mirror due to the weight that you put on and that can make you feel like you are not making any progress..🙈 while in fact, underneath the fluff - gains being made. it is amazing to see what your body is capable of 🙌

even if you’re not an eggs' fan, there are so many high protein, lower sugar ways to start your day. a quality protein shake with some healthy fats & greens, greek yogurt with fruit or even a clean protein bar are some examples. when it comes to fruit, eating fruit is a much better low calorie and high fiber option. while you could easily drink 11.5 oz of orange juice, you most likely would not eat 3.5 oranges in one sitting!

How jen and i have made what started as a side project into a full time income for jen and a path to healthy finances for our family.....

step 1 - stopped being skeptical of everything. this can be hard even for me but i followed my heart and it lead to my purpose of leading other to a healthy lifestyle •
step 2 - found something that genuinely adds value to people and changes peoples lives.
(i love that i have become that genuine person that brings value to other that need help changing their lifestyle)

step 3 - found mentors that go above and beyond helping jen and i to succeed. that totally lead with there hearts.

step 4 - found something that has no overhead.
(biggest challenge for people to start a business is the overhead cost we love this, the only overhead is the knowledge you will learn on how to help others 🙂)

step 5 - found something we can help people with from wherever we are at. ( i was on vacation this last week for my bday and i was able to help people from basically anywhere)

step 6 - we not only talk the talk but i we walk the walk.( following our own program we coach others, has been a amazing experience. we both are feeling and living our best life) •
step 7 - consistently add value to people with no expectations in return. ( we always wanting to help others and now we have a way of doing that consistently with proven results and success)

step 8 - i am coachable. (jen and i are constantly being coached and learning from people that truly care for our success)
