Cheesy garlic and herb bread — . 📍: @pequodspizza . 📝: 5.9 . 🎗: healthy amount of cheese and good garlic flavor. they also offer their house tomato sauce and ranch as dippers, big fan of that. . 🚫: gotta say i wasn’t a huge fan of the bread itself. you’d think the bread would be amazing since their pizza dough is that good, but it just missed the mark for me. it held up to the cheese, but the whole thing was just kinda soft. there wasn’t a good chew, no good crusty bits. idk, it’s not bad, but i’m not craving it and probably wouldn’t order it again. . but that cheese pull though, right? 😏

I remembered after 2 months that i had some cardamom pods sitting in my cabinet. can't believe it took me this long to realize. i'm especially happy because these pods will last me a long time and they were so much cheaper to purchase. typically you will likely spend $5-$6 on a jar of ground cardamom at your regular supermarket, which is a hefty price (at least for me) when it comes to spices. i got a huge bag of the whole pods (which you can throw in whole into different dishes then pick out the pieces when you're done cooking or grind up yourself) at an ethnic shop specializing in indian specialty products. going to a variety of ethnic shops is in my opinion, a great way to stretch your buck for a lot of items like rice, fruits, beans, vegetables and spices. for the whole bag of pods i only spent $2 plus i remember getting a huge bag of brown basmati rice and other spices that were super affordable. if you have the fortune of having stores like this in your area, definitely take advantage. luckily, i found a few on my way home from a site i was counseling at last week and very much looking forward to exploring some of the deals there soon. the cardamom inspired these super tasty cardamom coconut oats. 🤤 . cardamom coconut steel cut oats 1/4 cup @quaker steel cut oats (or 1/2 cup rolled oats if desired) 1 tbsp ground flax 1 tbsp shredded coconut 1 tsp cinnamon 2 cardamom pods (pinch of ground cardamom) 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk (only 1 cup if using regular rolled oats) 1 tsp maple syrup 1/2 mashed banana pinch of salt . mix all dry ingredients in a sauce pan set on the stove top over medium heat. move oats and spices around until they become fragrant, about 2 minutes. add in milk, syrup, and banana. bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer, allowing oats to fully cook and thicken while stirring occasionally, about 20-25 minutes for steel cut oats or 5 minutes for rolled oats. remove from heat and serve with fruit and nut butter or other fun toppings. 🤗 i honestly have found myself most recently attached to strawberries. they've been extra good recently. 🍓
