More crazy adductor work to rotate these bowlegged tibial torsion legs around! if your legs don’t present straight while in parallel, it is pretty darned hard to be turned out properly but it can improve👍🏻notice the cool 1/2 foam roller for added challenge and stretch of the calves. it adds a level of instability and height for the rise. you can do something similar in a toga block or a step! keep squeezing the ball, elevé slowly up and down without tolling in or out on the feet✍🏻the usual drill: 3 sets of ten! if you are hyperextended, remember to keep the kneecaps lifted but not locked back. give it a try and let me know! i prefer this squishy pilates ball to my my smaller balls.

workout exercises:
1️⃣ kettlebell yoga ball supported calf squat | 4 sets | 8 reps | 1:00 rest
2️⃣ dumbbell seated calf raise | 3 sets | 10 reps | 0-2-0 tempo | 0:45 rest
3️⃣ barbell leaning outer calf raise rack gliders | 3 sets | 13 reps | 0:45 rest

I have been slacking on my calf training lately, so i feel like a hypocrite posting this😅. but i hope this helps someone more effectively train their calves!

one of the most common mistakes made when it comes to training calves (next to not being consistent) is rushing through the repetitions. the achilles tendon that attaches to your calf muscles is strong, it can store a lot of elastic energy [1]. if you start bouncing the weight on calf raises, much of the work comes from the elasticity of the achilles tendon, not your calves.

a good way to ensure your calves do most of the work is by having a 1-2s pause at the start of each calf raise rep, as you see me doing in the video. this also holds true for seated calf raises. if you want to focus on growing your calves, i suggest doing a combination of both seated and standing calf raises. they both emphasize slightly different parts of your calves (seated = more soleus, standing = more gastrocnemius stimulation).

🇺🇸this is the type of #photo that make me feel better about training so much the #delts and #arms. i had an overpowering back and now in some poses it’s more even. of course having a great back is never a disadvantage but it’s better to have a freaky back and bigs shoulders/arms rather than a big back and ok shoulders/arms. seeing all the visual improvements made by staying around 178lbs and getting #stronger on a few things did it. also, i have been lazy on #calves work but they maintained and got #swole by this mini rest phase. remember that trashing something too much for too long is actually counter productive. 🙏 .

🇫🇷le genre de photo qui me conforte dans l’idée que je ne brasse pas du vent à autant bourriner les épaules et les bras pour rattraper le dos. autant avoir un énorme dos n’est jamais un désavantage, autant il faut pouvoir le compléter, et sur certaines poses je pense y arriver désormais. il y a une différence entre avoir un énorme dos et de bonnes épaules et bras, et avoir un bon dos et des épaules et bras a peine décents. c’est de la nuance. aussi, mes mollets se portent plutôt bien depuis que j’ai fait une pause dessus, ils n’ont pas bougés et ont meme l’air plus galbés. comme quoi, toujours se rappeler qu’entraîner un muscle trop fort pendant trop longtemps est plus délétère qu’autre chose. 🙏

try these!
1. calve raises in a squat position targets the soleus which underlays the gastrocnemius.
2. standing calf raises works both of these muscles, with less emphasis on the soleus.
🤣
target the soleus for max stimulus or it’s unlikely that it will grow. a larger soleus will give the appearance of bigger calves!

Wasn’t going to post this but figured it’s an important post to make. .

the pursuit of strength, like life, has ups and downs. not everything will always go in an upward trajectory, and plateaus are common along the journey. what’s important is figuring out what went wrong and fixing it. then move onto the next problem 😝. yes, there will be more problems. .

Sharing some of my favourite leg exercises 😍

1️⃣ donkey kicks 10x per side
2️⃣ reverse lunge and knee-up 10x per side
3️⃣ jump squats 20x
4️⃣ bulgarian split squat 10x per side
repeat twice!
.
it’s not necessary to do these exercises in the gym! you can do them at home or at the park.

don’t have to add weights if you are just starting out. if you really want to just hold your water bottle!

i’m heavy bottomed and these exercises really helped to tone my flabby legs. hope these moves will help you too!

A lot of people complain their calves don't grow while they always train it at the end of their leg workout. train it like any other body part you prioritize. train it at the beginning of a workout and hit it more than 1x a week. started my leg day with this. workout 408.
1. calf raises on leg press
2. jump squats
3. single leg calf raises on smith machine
