The more you eat these foods, the faster you age 👴🏽👵🏻🌭
//

//
📚 journal of the american dietetic association 📚
//
🍔in this study, more than 500 foods were tested for age content, everything from big macs and hot pockets to coffee and jell-o. in general, meat, cheese, and highly processed foods had the highest age content, and grains, beans, breads, vegetables, and fruits had the least.
//
🍎bottom line? strive to consume as many whole plant foods every day, especially fruits and vegetables (ideally organic and non-gmo to minimize pesticide, herbicide, and fungicide exposure). use plants as your medicine and vehicle for longevity, health, and happiness!

Herbs & spices make our meals extra medicinal ⚕🌝

which ones do you like to use?
-
there are so many different herbs and spices out there to take our meals to the next level🔝 start experimenting with more of these plant foods instead of relying only on salt to season your food! herbs and spices are some of the healthiest additions we can make to our meals.
-
did you know that the highest antioxidant foods on the planet are herbs and spices? more specifically, the highest antioxidant herbs are thyme, sage, rosemary, and marjoram, while the highest antioxidant spices are cumin and ginger! (ninfali, et al., 2005) 🌿🌱

Use food & herbs as your daily medicine!🍇🌿🙏

the 4th leading cause of death in the u.s. is "iatrogenic" - meaning death caused by the medical system through pills, procedures, and medical examinations, especially pills aka pharmaceuticals. and most of these deaths happened after medications were "properly prescribed." medications do not heal people, nor do they reverse illness. use food and herbs as your medicine to give the body the fuel it needs to carry out the healing process!!
//
🚨 this is not saying that pharmaceutical intervention is never necessary. sometimes it is the best option, however, it is doing far more harm than good! basic lifestyle modifications can help us avoid medications and live a pill-free life with great health 🌝

Our skin is the largest vital o***n we have and it has the huge jobs of temperature control, protection & elimination. it also ingests everything we put on it!!! that's why i only use top notch, organic products on mine and this cbd salve from @veritasfarmsofficial is the only skin salve i've tried that actually alleviates the shoulder/neck pain i often experience from too many hours at the computer. it's made with all vegan, non-gmo ingredients including their full-spectrum cannabinoid oil that is third party tested, ensuring high quality! veritas means truth in latin and they really live up to their name ~ full transparency and sustainability in everything they do. they're vertically integrated meaning they grow, extract, formulate, manufacture, bottle, label & ship all on the farm in the rocky mountains and they're cuban owned! epppaaa!!! 💃🏽 go get you some healing!
they have cbd oil tinctures for humans & pets, massage oils, salves, gummies, capsules, & lip balms 😻 #xmasgifts

Intuitive eating has taken my relationship with my body to the next level 🌱🧡
it’s really the idea of asking your body what it needs and wants and feeling for the answer.
for example, when we’re sick we usually crave something warm, that’s our bodies asking us for that extra fire because it’s using up energy to heal us. we can tap into that communication everyday by asking ✨
it’s also the idea of saying bye to strict diets and counting calories! eating should be fun and trusting yourself to nourish yourself feels even better 🧡
intuitive eating has lead me to eating plant based because that’s what felt right to put into my body.
instead of asking yourself ‘can i have this?’ or ‘how do i look?’ ask yourself ‘do i want this?’ and ‘how do i feel?’ 🌱✨

Energies are contagious and so are mindsets and words ✨
one time i heard someone say “you’re only going to be as good as the people you surround yourself with” let that be our reminder to spend time with the people that lift us higher energetically 🧡
if that means meeting new people and putting ourselves out there then go at it with an open heart 💗your tribe should inspire you to dream ✨
love these girls and their beautiful energies🌈 thank you for this magical yoga class @tarynleighh

Cbd and menstrual cramps🌺

blue iris cbd can be used two different ways to alleviate menstrual pain. 🦋 our product can be taken sublingually in place of an anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen or naproxen. taken this way it can help to decrease inflammation and relieve pain.🍃 the second way to use our cbd for menstrual cramps would be to rub it directly on to your lower abdomen. this can be done with just a few drops of oil or the cbd oil can be mixed with an all natural oil or lotion of your choice and then applied. 😊

If you don't already know, i absolutely love books (i believe the technical term for people like me is 'bibliophile'). i'm always reading something, and i always have a big stack of books waiting in the wings. this picture is a sample of the books i read in 2018 (a number of them are not pictured because i either returned them to the library, traded them in at our favorite second-hand bookstore, or now i can't find them 😬). 📚
i read all kinds of books by all kinds of different authors, because i believe it stretches me as a person and helps me to grow. i read for my own personal benefit, to research for my blog, to help others, and to learn about a variety of different topics. that doesn't mean i love every book or author i read (in fact, many of them i strongly disagree with in certain points). i did not care for some of the books pictured here, while others were life-changing. that's all part of being well-read. 📚
i can honestly say that the ability to read is one of the greatest gifts one can possess. as mark twain said, "the man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read." so, once again, i make it one of my yearly goals to continue to read good books, making a list of them as i finish them, with hearts next to the ones that were life-changing and worth reading again❤️
📚
and i would love to know what books you all love and recommend! let me know in the comments what books i just have to read in 2019 😉📚💕

📝 three things you may not know about one of the human body’s most vital hormones...
1️⃣ the thyroid gland secretes only about 1 teaspoon of thyroid hormone over an entire year. it’s easy to see how such small variations in this hormone can wreak havoc throughout the body.
2️⃣ there may be as many as 130 million adult americans suffering from hypothyroidism. some symptoms include: cold hands/feet, dry skin, elevated cholesterol, fatigue, infertility, muscle cramps, poor memory, & depression.
3️⃣ if your physician isn’t checking your thyroid via extensive and comprehensive blood tests, basal body temperature, and physical exams, it may be time to find one who will take your symptoms seriously.
📚 for more detailed information on how you may implement a safe and effective natural regiment to treat your thyroid disorder, i encourage you to read my book: overcoming thyroid disorders (3rd edition). it is available for purchase here 💻www.drbrownstein.com or via my supplement department by calling: (866) 877-6467 📞
